How long will Christians wait for Jesus?

RE: How long will Christians wait for Jesus?
NO PEEKING !!!!!!
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

J or P:

For though you have countless leaders in Christ

Jesus was talking to the people concerning the Jewish leaders who felt they had the right to tell the people what to do. They themselves didn't follow scripture and when they made laws for the people to follow, they exempted themselves. As far as what Paul said, I checked three versions of the new testament and none of them used the word "leaders", but rather "guides". A guide or a leader of that type is not a leader of the people, but rather teaches according to what scripture says and claims no authority in himself. These are two different circumstances as Jesus was telling the people not to be like the Jewish officials who claim to be leaders. What version of the bible are you getting the word "leaders" from?

This is far and away the single most horrifically inhuman thing anybody has ever said. For shame.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I already know who said what, but I need to read the entire chapter to determine the context. I'm going out for lunch, but I'll address them all.

It's amazing an omipotent god leaves no traces of his existence.

Such a being could prove his existence in a nearly unlimited number of ways.

It's insane to me that the requirement to not burn is to believe in that which is not proven.

Also, going to hell for not believing essentially makes not believing a crime. Authoritarian much?

I think the bible makes a good case for Jesus, but I had to choose to believe without scientific proof.  My personal experiences, and God himself, are what keep me in the faith.

Hello, sir.  The following questions are out of friendly curiosity and are in no way intended to be disrespectful toward your beliefs.  With that said, if God presents itself as a man to you, then does God also present itself in a form that is more acceptable/comprehensible to the person it is presenting itself to?  For example, if some person (male or female) experienced God, then could that person see God as a woman? If some sentient alien life-form saw God, then would God present itself in an image that is somewhat similar to how that life-form looks?  Are all of these images of God equally valid?  Furthermore, how do people distinguish between God and their projections of what God is?

J or P:

Take heed that you are not led astray; for many will come in my name,
saying, . . . `The time is at hand!' Do not go after them.

Jesus is talking about false messiahs trying to get people to follow them by pretending to know the time of Jesus' coming. Paul is simply telling the christians in Rome to be prepared because the day of salvation is at hand. The day of salvation for most of us will come after we die. He's not pointing at a specific time of Jesus' return. They're discussing two different things.

What a ghastly and abusive religion you have, Godschild!

Your idiotic beliefs.  Your evil god.  Your gloating-at-sinners torture fantasy.  Your threats. You deal with it.

May you commit the Unforgivable Sin in your dreams one night very, very soon and spend the next few years of your life agonizing over your lost salvation, until the day that you realize you never had salvation in the first place.

He's already committed the unforgivable sin. He's spent so much effort in being a good little xtian drone, he's forgotten what it is to be human.

I don't fear your tyrant any more the I fear any other . If your god acts as you say he does then he is a god unworthy of my love and deserves to be mocked . And suffering at it's hands could only be good compared to your fate of being a slave to such a monster.
Seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy -- myself.
