Reality has a liberal bias. Conservatives, and authoritarians tend to want to maintain the status quo in an ever changing world, and the more educated people are, the more likely they are to realize that if you don't change with time, you get left behind.

When higher education is so positively correlated with left-leaning politics and their policies are so contrary to common sense, it'd be more surprising if they weren't so hostile to education.

Kind of an inevitability of the information age, where even poor people can usually find a library with internet access.
Then again, I ran across a story where some woman praised trupcare for her son's lower medical insurance cost. Something that hasn't even passed into law yet. So we still have a ways to go.

reading that angered me and it also sadden me as well if she only knew what trump care would do to her and her family and millions of families in the US.

U of A huh? The weather here in Tucson has been great this week. Beautiful sunsets and all.
My aged mother is a college professor (psychology), and I would say she is a left leaning liberal; but not a communist.
It seems to me that most in the psychology/sociology realm would gravitate leftward. Just the nature of the work and atmosphere.

I agree. I'm not sure why we don't consider healthcare as much a basic need as food, water, and shelter. But we have a big issue with people in power treating poor people with disdain, as they funnel money from the pockets of the poor and middle class into the pockets of the rich.
Republicans screw us over, Democrats refuse to fight back, and they bth work together to squash any third party.

No, it isn't that Dems refuse to fight back. Our lack of ability to push back didn't happen overnight. It is hard to fight back when you live under 36 years of GOP gerrymandering of our national and state district maps. It also didn't help that democratic voters gave up after Reagan successfully busted the airline unions. We suck at showing up in local and state elections on both even and odd years. Our politicians are hostages and the only way we free them to fight back and give them the power to fight back is to participate and speak out every day and vote in every election every year.
We don't need a third party, we need more participation.

Well people are participating now, and the establishment dems hate them for it. Progressives are getting out, but the DNC isn't listening.
