You can do a mile, babe. Just remember to pace. A shuffling run is better than no run.

hehe... run a mile... how cute.
Good luck! Try not to sprain an ankle!
One of the good things about riding a bike is that ankle sprains become difficult to achieve! Tongue
And I know that I'm prone to spraining... sometimes I just step on a rock the wrong way and there it goes... Luckily I've somehow developed a way of quickly step again to get weight off that foot - it's been allowing me to keep my feet working with my last major sprain happening over 2 decades ago! Smile

Gosh, I hope that wasn't meant in the spirit that it sounds. This is all about encouragement.

Speaking of encouragement...

My daughter encouraged me to make some cookies yesterday. And I did. And they were good.

Ugh.

Keeping track of what all you eat and drink can help even if you don't look up the calorie count on everything.

Today I had:
•Early in the morning I had tea and 4 thin lemon cookies with the newspaper.  Then I had a second cup with 2 Belvita blueberry cookies.  Then I had a third cup with the other two cookies from the same package.  (It was the Sunday papers, so more tea and cookies were needed.)
•Around 8 am I had a cup of cooked steel cut oatmeal with raisins, walnuts, banana, blackberries and strawberries.
•Around noon I had a sandwich made with Dave's killer seeded bread (small loaf), two bread and butter pick slices, mustard and Trader Joe's curry chicken salad.  Also had lunch-sized bag of Snyder's pretzel sticks with it and a glass of water.
•Around 3pm I stopped for a 12 oz coffee (black) and one large peanut butter cookie.
•Around 6pm I had a wine cooler made with white wine and Kern's guava juice and a snack pack bag of cashews from TJ's while watching the Warriors beat DC basketball team.
•Had dinner with the missus around 7:30pm, splitting a TJ's classic greek salad enhanced (on my side) with one hardboiled egg, half an avocado, a couple of marinated artichoke heart pieces and a slice of toast with cheese washed down with a glass of water.
•A bit later I had one mango ice cream Mochi dessert served at the end of my dinner fork.

And that is all.  Not a great day for losing a lot of weight, but a decent chance of maintaining edging toward losing a little.  Probably the worst parts of the day were the big peanut butter cookie and the wine cooler.  Can't drink your calories if you're hoping to lose weight.

Well it is now 2:30 in the morning and thanks to my fucking cat, I am awake. I read an article somewhere that not getting at least 8 hours of sleep can cause weight gain or can at least make it hard to lose weight.

Thanks cat. You fucker.

Don't know how it sounds... The spirit was that, by the end of the month, one mile should seem like a somewhat short run... ~7 minutes or so...
You can do it Tibs... I dare you to reach 2 miles by Easter.

So, today is the first of my two 500 cal days. 200g mixed fruit salad with fat free yogurt for breakfast (appx 100 cals) mixed salad (no dressing, maybe a little squeeze of lemon) will be lunch (appx 100 cals), and a 200g baked potato with baked beans for dinner (appx 250 cals). The other 50 cals goes for a splash of milk in tea throughout the day. Otherwise, drinking water.

Not a massive fan of salad as a meal on its own, but life got in the way of soup-making over the weekend.

Sorry, but it sounded like you were being sardonic about it, as if a mile is a weak goal. A minus seven-minute mile in a month is a lofty challenge for someone who doesn't do any distance running. I'm sure he can, but he's much better with speed than with endurance. Even when I was running several miles, several days a week, he was faster than me over short distances. I think the trick for him will be pacing. If he doesn't push like he's used to, he'll last longer. (That's what she said.) Thanks for the encouragement! I hope he goes faster and farther than he expected.

I think the planning you are doing will go a long way in making it easier to stick to your fasting days. Good luck!

I've gone two days so far eating pretty well. Started today off with an oatmeal and a yogurt.
