Why are Christians so uneasy about the paranormal

Why are Christians so uneasy about the paranormal
I have heard Christians say that anything paranormal related is a tool of the Devil. But being an agnostic I really like to give everything a chance. While I am skeptical of the Paranormal, there are some stories that just aren't flawed and it's nearly impossible to poke holes in them. But I digress.

Eh. I've met a fair share of atheists that have some wacky paranormal/bordering supernatural views as well. And..what do you mean that there are 'some stories that just aren't flawed'?

Well yeah, a lot of those kinds of stories are impossible to debunk because there isn't any way to investigate 'em.  It's way easier when their paranormal/supernatural shtick of choice is something like healing crystals or the magic of chi-flow and reflexology. ..which one of my cousins buys into.

RE: Why are Christians so uneasy about the paranormal
And like in regard to their own Inerrant and Literally True Scriptures, Christians have a very diverse set of opinions on 'paranormal' matters.

Back in the 80s when most all the Christians definitely were less slacker and more 'pious' than the ones of today, it wouldn't have been hard to find some aware that the first of the 10 Commandments covers the 'paranormal' to the extent if something 'miraculous' is going on and it clearly is not of the Abrahamic God, it is forbidden as that would be entreating 'other' Gods.

Of course, Christians being Christians, even in the 80s there had to be exceptions to a plainly worded absolute prohibition in Holy Scripture and so when it was revealed the Christians very own President Reagan (who had so SHAMELESSLY pandered to them for their votes) was employing a court astrologer he, of course, had to get a pass. The First Lady at the time, Nancy Reagan, was clearly dealing with a woman with a 'familiar spirit' (explicitly mentioned in Scripture and SPECIFICALLY forbidden, BTW) and was beyond any attempt of any of that eras Christians for witnessing the Word, at least, or even a necessary rebuke, lest others be swayed by her example to engage the dark arts.

So, the 'paranormal' then as now, it depends on who you are and what you're doing, Scriptures be damned.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Ten people all told me that they saw a guy flying thorugh city park just by waving his arms. Now debunk.

Of course bible worshipers believe in the paranormal. Just watch The Exorcist.

Well, they believe in their own paranormal, but paranormal stuff from Hindu's for instance (like I watched them handle deadly serpents without harm in a way virtually no Christian ever does) is STRICTLY forbidden.

And there is a big grey area, daily astrology columns in their local newspapers garner nary a complaint (but aren't they gateway drugs, so to speak, for inviting SATAN into your life?) but try and put up a statue of Baphomet in a public square and instantly their panties are in a huge wad in their butt cracks.

Isn't transubstantiation paranormal? I think we got some cherry picking.

If you're Protestant, yes, transubstantiation is paranormal, and we all know, Catholics aren't REALLY Christians.

Weird, ain't it, some big piece of dogma like that being recorded so vaguely and imprecisely in Scripture (4 times as I recall !!!!!) as to foment schism!!
