AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-May 3 to Whenever We're Not Fat Anymore
RE: AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-May 3 to Whenever We're Not Fat Anymore
House hunting and buying has me very off-schedule. I'm just hoping for the best when it comes to exercise and weight.

I need to lose about 2% more fat and abs will show.

I've been fluctuating between 145lbs and 150lbs for the past couple of months (I'm about 5'10"). My muscle tone seems to be more noticeable around 145lbs, so my goal is to stay closer to this weight and to be lean and fit.  That said, if my pursuit of this goal results in me getting leaner and fitter while also getting heavier, then that is also fine with me.

I'm off diet until my bariatric consult two weeks from today. I have been -trying- to stay off diet for some time but have still managed to lose 13 lbs since.

BMI 40.5 down from 50.6. I've lost 20% of my starting body mass. Goal is 112 lbs away. Half of both my closet and dresser have been cleared of clothes that no longer fit. I need to go shopping.

I've been wearing the Samsung Gear Fit2pro and I like how it reminds me to get up and move around if I've been sitting for more than an hour. I plan on hitting the gym tomorrow for some treadmill time.

That is great.  Is there a reason they want you to slow it down?  Nice to get a couple of new duds for where you are now  to see how you look.  Besides you deserve it.

If I was certain that they weren't going to retest me for apnea and would accept my 17 month old test results indicating so I wouldn't worry about. But 40 BMI is the cutoff for being a surgical candidate without additional factors (apnea, diabetes, etc). I'm about three pounds from that.

Weight is remaining steady in the low 220s. Ballet summer class is about half over now, four classes left. My balance is substantially better, my calves are getting stronger, and I can also stay up in demi-pointe (heels high and foot as close to vertical as you can get it, balancing on the balls of the feet) for a surprisingly long time.

Or at least till my calves start to cramp up...

I'm not as hard-core as you guys, but I'm about 240 lbs-- got lazy after some hip surgery and then polyp and ulcer surgeries last year- and i want to get down to maybe 180. You guys have definitely inspired me to get back into it.

I have only done one thing so far: no pure carbs like rice, potatoes, bread, stuff like that. I'm still eating high-calorie foods, especially avocados, and I get one soda per day (yay Dr. Pepper!) But most of my meals are stir-fried vegetables with tofu (tastes better than it sounds, actually).

So far, I'm down about 10 lbs, but I think the first few pounds were just overhydration, food in the gut and stuff like that. If I can lose about 20 lbs more, I'll be under 100kg, which will be a real happy milestone Big Grin

It's all about stringing together small victories. Which I haven't been so good at lately.
