Dunno how such a cute thing can come from me. And English is nearly mandatory in school. I learnt from seeing movies and subtitles, Dad gave me a commodore 64 with a big book of programming in BASIC, so I kinda had to understand something more than LOAD"" and hit return.

I can tell she has an inquisitive mind, the way she tries to destroy or eat her toys.

She already fools dad with her charms. Moments. Of pure beauty.

See, that's how characters differ already this early. My daughter charmingly throws things at me and then gives me a defiant grin. Also moments of beauty Big Grin

Well if you had to chop anyone's head off, I'm glad you left the baby and doggy intact.  Still it would have been nice to get to make fun of your ears or something.

Your bud is practically self petting.  Just dangle a hand in reach and he'll see to it that it brushes his coat.  My Heidi is like that.  Endearing until it becomes annoying.  Is your pupper what we would call a Portuguese Water dog?  I've only seen black ones.

You know if we'd had a daughter that was the name we would have gone with.  Love incarnate.

Okay this is way too much info so I'll put the most of it in hide tags.  It's been a busy few days.  I've been babysitting my niece and nephew so my brother and his wife can celebrate their anniversary in Vegas.  Wednesday and Thursday they had school so aside from meals and homework.  After that my niece likes to play some sort of thing on her laptop while the boy plays games on the television in the living room, especially if I'm willing to be a witness to his bloodshed.

I know this is supposed to be photos of our members but here is one of me with my stepson's dog Bella who was staying with me.

Bella enjoyed sitting in a chair like Julian's and seemed intent to watch his action.

But on Friday they were out of school for a holiday so we went to place called the Koret Children's Quarter in Golden Gate Park, where they climbed, slid and swang on everything.  But we all rode the carousel.

Having left Bella at my house for my stepson to pick up, we then drove on to Fort Funston with their dog Lily and my boy Smokey.

When we got back to my house we took a hot tub while their shoes, socks and pants were in the dryer (yeah, why not walk in the surf I guess).  Then the wife and I took them to the Berkeley Art Museum for the Family Art Lab.  The missus is holding up my dorky my drawing, Julian is holding his and Tera is holding one of the three she did.

That was the end of our day of adventure.  But my babysitting gig isn't the main reason I've been scarce around here.  I've been sprucing the garden up as spring kicks into high gear.  So the rest are pics of an area I've been developing in our side yard.  I think of this area as a white garden, though apart from the Geranium maderense most of the white will come from roses and perennials that aren't in bloom yet.

Meet Magnífico. At 4-5 weeks old, we have learned the art of drinking the milk replacer out of a syringe. I know ideally two more weeks with mum were optimal, but kitty was facing homelessness any day now, so had to bring Magnífico home. Had been crying since arrival and I tried everything. Thought maybe I needed to feed him (her?) more. Nope. Not it. Turns out that infant kittens are much like newborn humans. Wrapping them up in a cozy blanket and keeping them close to the mommy (tis me) works wonders. Kitty purrs and purrs now and sleeps comfortably. Success! This is what I have been up to lately (besides the other less important things, like working, maintaining the home, doctor visits, etc, ya know... those trivial things lol). Fígaro is slowly, but surely, adapting to the new kitty in town. My heart is full.

Oh! Also went hiking. Half the hike is in water, and the water was so coooold! It was nice, though.

WANNA GO HIKING NOW!!!

I don't even remember what the alps look like. The kids really need to get born and grow up enough to go into the mountains.

Mama... at that age they still do the "kitten pile" thing because they cannot regulate or make their own body heat, hence this is why bundling him up is a good idea. Dill will be 2 years old this August and he still tries to sleep on my neck even though he is nearly a full grown cat. Old habits die hard, I guess Big Grin He and Pickles are the two kittens we found at about the same age as your Figaro is now.

Wow, I want to go there.  Okay - meet up to be led on a hike by our mama.  This reminds me of a hike we did years ago in West Clear Creek in Arizona.  Such good memories.  I love hiking slot canyons in the SW and have bagged several, if they have water that's a bonus.

This morning Facebook showed me a photo from six years ago which I never saved on flickr.  So after a couple computer crashes where I discovered I hadn't been backing everything up, I no longer have direct access to it.  But I took a screen shot.  This is my niece at Filoli, an estate garden less than an hour from home.  It is really an incredible place.

I've taken her older cousin Rose there too.  Hmm .. guess there is something about pretty young girls that really improve a garden photo I guess.  Here is Rose:

And here are few photos I've taken over the years from Filoli.

Boy, looking at these really makes me want to go back there.  The tulips in spring are amazing there.  Oh, one more.  This is Rose's half sister as an infant with Rose's mom, Violi.
