What part of the Mitten did you live in?

Fuck winter.
I disagree.
Only in winter can you snuggle with your loved one in front of a warm fire, with a glass of red wine. Safe in the knowledge that outside is crisp and cold and it's much nicer to be right where you are.

Only if you have a house with a warm fire.

I don't have a sleeping bag. I don't go camping. I live in a poorly insulated house whose central heat is ineffectual, so we use heaters to try and stay warm in the rooms we use the most. My boyfriend doesn't live with me, but now will get to experience first hand on the nights we spend together why I will be ever so grateful when he presents me with a key to the house he will buy in spring that will have central heat and air AND insulation.
The house sucks in heat or cold and holds them throughout the day. 10ft ceilings give plenty of space for heat to rise downstairs so that the air you walk through makes you shiver, and the floors are so cold that walking on them barefoot or in only regular socks makes your feet ache. In the summer, the heat rises to my room where it gets trapped in the attic space just on the other side of my wall and makes the upper portion of the house 90°F or more for two-three months out of the year. I have a window air-conditioning unit. Woe betide me if we lose power momentarily because it doesn't come back on automatically and I might come home to a room that's 100°.
So yes, fuck winter and fuck summer sometimes too.
Believe me, I'm all for making up instances to cause intimacy, including in the cold. There's a parking garage at the edge of Charlotte with an excellent city and sunset view that I plan to seduce my boyfriend on one frosty night after doing night shots of the city and a little stargazing. But when the cold is so constant that you come to work just to thaw out and you feel as if deep in your bones you'll never be warm again...or when the heat is so constant you really wonder if you'll ever not be covered in a thin layer of sweat... No amount of intimacy platitudes are comforting.
I never miss an opportunity to have sex - warm or cold. I don't need to use the weather or temp as an encouragement. He gets it pretty much anytime and anywhere he wants it.

Half truth. That house isn't put together any better than some third world or most second world (is that even a thing?) homes.
I'm appalled at how much my roommate paid for it, but she was desperate to get away from a stalker boyfriend.
