He use to have a pet chimpanzee. Made his property into an amusement park "the neverland ranch." The media spread all sorts of rumors about him. Not sure what to believe myself.

He also was accused of molesting children and I don't play that game so I don't listen to his music or like him.

I spent years feeling the same way, but after watching an interview with Neil deGrasse Tyson my thoughts changed. Larry King asked him who some of his hero's were. 
He said he picked his hero a la carte. If you choose a hero they will inevitably let you down. So he admires sport stars and their abilities, but doesn't concern with their "less desirable traits." 

Here is some of his thoughts:
“You should chose your heroes a-la carte. Picking and choosing from one and then another, thereby assembling a kind of composite hero. That way when you discover something reprehensible about any one of them it matters nothing to you because that’s not the part of them that piqued your interest.”

"This is how I form my own personal philosophy and am able to ignore the less-than desirable traits of some of those who I admire."

“I think on some level, role models are overrated,” Tyson said. “Growing up in the Bronx, had I required, as a prerequisite, that another black man from the Bronx had become an astrophysicist for me to become one, I’d still be in the Bronx.”

I think it would have been great if he didn't bleach his skin to hide his splotchy skin. It would have helped people accept themselves. His nose surgeries were scary too. 

Yeah, in the 80s and 90s, vanity was all the rage. I don't know that's why he did it, but in cultural context, it's understandable to me.

For some people, vitiligo is very symmetrical and makes these gorgeous patterns on their skin. For others, it looks splotchy and makes them self conscious. I don't at all blame him for wanting to look good, but I do think it was disordered the level he took it to. I do not at all think it was because he wanted to be white.

As for the pedophilia claims, I very much believe he was a pedophile. I don't know if he acted on it, though.

Eh I spent years estranged from my family because they believed my step dad over me and that was almost harder than the actual abuse so when it comes to hurting children I believe the children first.

I don't know what to believe concerning his pedophilia accusations. Made good music, IMO. Sad that the pedophilia accusations can detract from his artistic achievements for some people, but oh well.

Fuck. My apologies for sounding as if his sexual abuse wasn't a huge issue.  A girl on the other forum said she told her mother about her uncles abuse, and her mother did nothing. When a young kid molested or is brave enough to ask for help, and is rejected I can only imagine the phycological impact for years (not implying this is your story).  I think whether your are a talented star like Michael Jackson or a poor fuck the punishment should be jail and castration. They have found no evidence as far as I know that these abusers can be rehabilitated. If my kids were abused in any way I can't promise I wouldn't murder the fucker. 
I started listening to Michael Jackson music again after year of hatred toward him.  His sexual songs as a little boy made me sad. All his older brothers in their sexual prime and Michael was a little boy center stage at 7 years old. Singing to ladies and girls and still developing into a young adolescent.
