Texting and Driving

I know they say the answer to auto pilot is taking different routes but I'm telling you there is literally only two ways to get into the city I work in and the second way takes hours because I have to go THROUGH Austin down south and then back up again.

No offense intended, I bet the guy who just about ran me over in a crosswalk a short while ago rationalizes his dangerous behavior in much the same way.

The difference is I don't run stop lights. I once did and I felt so bad about it I almost cried. To be fair I sat at the light for ten minutes and it didn't change. It was nearly midnight and no one was around.

No lynching but how about a little jewish mother guilt, now you need to also consider your passenger.

Don't be so hard on yourself for this one. If there is no one else around and you can proceed safely, you have my permission.  Rolleyes I used to do it regularly at one light right off the freeway, going to work, at o'dark hundred. That sucker would be red for 15 minutes. I look around- no cars- I'm gone. I stopped first (always) and then went probably 50+ times at that light. I'll post this emoji before I get the hate. If you're texting and driving 620, you're begging for an accident, you know that.

I'm not really on 620 for long. I go back behind Bullock Hollow and come out Comanche trail (which is way too curvy to text on) By the time I'm on 620 I'm in too much high speed traffic to text. My commute to and from work is primarily text at red lights since I hit enough of them. I'm text more when going to Copperas Cove.

I can't tell you how many times I'm on 71 going to work or the HEB and see folks texting at 70mph. Scares the shit outta me.

Yes, I want to see your hair flowing back/whipping into your eyes when you are cranking 240 kPH. Wink Fastest I've ever driven is 140 MPH. One of the vehicles that I drove that fast, the engine suffered a mighty failure. Sad

Fastest I've ever driven was 115 mph in my old 79 280. The old lady was shaking something fierce -- the front MacPhersons were going soft and it felt like I was going to lift off soon. I still had about 2000 rpm to redline in fifth, one downshift and I could have hit 130 without too much of an issue other than controllability.
