He'd have to either-

a- be a complete idiot not to have given it thought
or
b- been so cluelessly incompetent with regards to the administration he signed onto that he was totally in the dark.

Which of the two screams "presidential material", to you?  Personally, I expect a wave of sacrificial resignations as a means to cleanse the party image.

The third, and assumed option..is that Pence knowingly hitched his wagon to a bunch of people he expected to be drummed out, for what, again? That would make him a witting accomplice after the fact. Which is super duper fucking illegal. He will invariably be asked (and has already been asked) whether or not he had any knowledge about any of this. Trumps entire admin hung that orange albatross around their necks...and there's no changing it now. Probably explains why each and every one of them played their role in wishing and hoping and praying that none of it ever came to see the light of day.

I cannot support impeachment of Trump with Pence waiting in the wings to take the presidency.

Trump is self impeding himself enough to ameliorate and buffer the crap he's trying to pull.  Pence will not be similarly encumbered, and can get his agenda done tautly and efficiently.

That's ungood.  Massively ungood and demonstrably worse than what we have.  Trump will continue lurching around a step forward and 2 backwards while Pence would sprint, undeterred, efficiently and tautly and it would be a fucking disaster an order of magnitude worse than what we have now.

I actually think Pence would be as bad as Drumpfuck in his very own special way. First of all he'll be leading a very divided party, because the teahadists and the trumptards will be bulling for a civil war with the remnants of the reality based Republitraitors, and second of all look at how badly he fucked over Indiana. In three years as governor he managed to destroy the state's finances, reputation and economic outlook with his far right christian dominionism platform. This man couldn't organise an orgy in a women's prison if he was carrying a sheaf of pardons in one hand and pulling a crate of fags* in the other.

It';s not as if anyone's reservations with Pence matter at present, anyway.  There's absolutely no way in hell that the repubs will agree to it before they can get the repeal passed, so that they can give out the money they owe next legislative session.  It would simply force them to go on record against his impeachment.....right before the midterm campaigning begins.
