Just finished watching the Phillies lose to the Giants in Philadelphia. As the game wound down there were these constant crowd shots of asshats in the stands praying. Their prayer did not work. The Giants won.

This leads to one of two conclusions:

1. God is a Giants Fan, or

2. There is no god.

I dismiss #1 as a possibility...the Giants have been fuck-ups for far too long to have any divine support.

I'm sure some xtian will pronounce that god does not give a shit about baseball however that makes a liar out of his "son."

Quote:And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive

--Matthew 21:22

Surely, in the entire crowd there must have been one xtian Philly fan who had enough 'faith' to merit a little jesus-assisted single.

Looks like jesus was full of shit...as usual.

Perhaps you dont understand that verse.
Its ok to have doubt, just dont let that doubt become the answers.

You dont hate God, you hate the church game.

"God is not what you imagine or what you think you understand. If you understand you have failed." Saint Augustine

Your mind works very simply: you are either trying to find out what are God's laws in order to follow them; or you are trying to outsmart Him. -Martin H. Fischer

Perhaps you should explain it, because it seems to me that the verse is saying that "If you believe and pray to the Lord, you shall receive what you are praying (asking) for."

I understand it fine, laddie.

All translations of that silly verse agree on what it says.

That leaves it to xtian apologists to make excuses for their godboy being full of shit.

Why shouldn't you have your turn?

Meanwhile....Philly lost in spite of all those fucking prayers.

Good.

Fuck 'em.

A third possibility is that God didn't want to listen to their prayers for a good reason.
Or maybe the Giants tried harder than the Phillies to win the game and that's why God rewarded them with a victory. That's only fair, isn't it?

Because they played better god rewarded them with victory.

So they didn't win just because they were better.

That makes sense, ROFLOL

That's not what 'jesus' said, though. Read it again carefully.

Solja, that seems to be your usual response, so I'm curious...what do YOU think it actually means?

And let's not forget the lead-in to that particular silly verse, Summer. It's the even better;

Quote:Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this [which is done] to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

So getting mountains to move is easy but a bloop single with the tying and winning runs on second and third was too much for their allegedly omnipotent 'god' to manage?

Really. It makes you wonder about the mentality of xtians that they could believe such utter crap.

But to REALLY fuck up the fundies let's assume that there were lots of fans in San Francisco ( the gay capital of the world!) praying for an out. Why did 'god' answer the prayers of fag-lovers? Let's see if the xtians dare to deal with that one!

Perhaps the WBC is wrong. Maybe god doesn't hate fags?
