So basically, I'm not super excited.

Missy was far enough.

I may watch but only if nothing else is on, a bit like the second series with Capaldi, it didn't blow my skirt up. The last series he really got a grip on it and it was good and now we have the woman.

I am not in favour of changing things for the sake of it.
Having polynesians in medieval England for example, (like in the last king arthur series) it jars, no matter how good the actor or actress it will always annoy like an ulcer. It takes you out of the moment.

Will I be annoyed by this, I find I am, it grates and I can't help that.

I was never a big Who fan (nothing really against it, though), but I have to admit to some sadness that the series has gone from passable science fiction into ludicrous fantasy.  I can accept time travel, sonic screwdrivers, and 'reversing the polarity of the neutron flow'...but everyone knows that women can't be doctors...

I've only just started to watch dr. Who, and though I've seen a few different episodes...
and idea of a woman as the dr. hmm... it seems a little odd to me, but maybe I'm wrong...

I'm just waiting for 'that' scene...

Doctor (Jodie Whittaker): Susan?
Susan (Idris Elba): Grandfather??

I don't care what sex The Doctor is.

And the doctor is an alien, do you think The Doctor cares whether they have testicular balls or a non-American fanny?

I haven't heard those rumors, and have heard that they've already started shooting (or have already shot) the Capaldi regeneration scene.

Yeah. Like Ian, Steven, Jamie, Harry, Adric, Turlough...

Actually, not like Adric or Turlough, please.

(Oops, forgot Ben. And does K9 count as male? The Doctor does refer to him as such.)

Any source on those rumors? I'm guessing it would only make sense if the whole "Two Doctors" Christmas special takes place in an parallel world, and we end up with effectively two timelines. I'd be happy with that explanation. However they already gave the Doctor a new set of regenerations anyway, so it doesn't make much sense.
