Whenever I see someone I picture in my head how that person would come at me like he wanted to kill me.. If it's a really tall guy I imagine I'll break his knees first, then fake a leg kick and go for the head or grapple to the ground and go for a choke. If it's a short or medium size guy I'll go in straight with a flying knee to the head because nobody expects that. It's more or less just a pass time and never with any malice behind it but mostly just to make sure it'll be easy to defend myself should it come to it(just in case). That aside, I agree with CL about things relating to marriage, it's pretty common for our people to go work abroad, our church now demands that anyone that wants to marry and work abroad needs to provide a certificate that they have no relations/marriage in the country they are working in to get married in our church.

Yes, but God is not the cause of the suffering. Separation from God (the key component of Hell) is a direct result of people choosing to reject God.

Again, your grasp of Christianity is overly simplistic. 1 John 1:9 says "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." This is clearly a promise and not a begging thing as you suggest.

It is common for the Andrea Yates case to be wheeled out at this point which, to my mind, is somewhat unfair. She was unhinged and most christians would agree so.

Nevertheless, such action is consistent with christian doctrine. 

Of more concern is the Schaible case and others like it where faith has had devout parents shunning medical care in favour of prayer.

Which is the semantic equivalent of saying that those who don't believe in Jesus will perish and not have eternal life.  If God holds out the reward of eternal life to believers, and withholds it from non-believers, that qualifies as a punishment.
