lol, I was not actually thinking of Jesus, because people being raised from the dead occurs a few times in both the old and new testaments. Also Jesus and his apostles in the New Testament were mentioned raising people from the dead, I was thinking of that rather than the story of the resurrection of Jesus.
It makes you think if people back in New Testament times were using the same sort of stuff as Haiti voodoo priests to drug people, make them appear dead and then come out of their graves or appear to suddenly leap back to life.
Absolutely, according to the NT, resurrection was a relataively commonplace event.
Matthew 27:51-53.

v. 51--At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split.

v. 52--The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.

v. 53--They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

Not to mention the daughter of Jairus and Lazarus of course.

Zombies were indeed commonplace in iron age Palestine, as they were in other places at other times. Perhaps the only people who deserved resurrection were those that lived in those time frames in those places. It has never happened again in modern times. We have however through advances in medical science manage to revive people who have 'died' for a short period. I wonder who fundies trust when they need help: 'miracle' workers and paryer or doctors?
