Ths is not a decision a woman can take by herself if she has a partner. BOTH are pregnant. The woman is carrying the baby.

Also, if the fetus still has no consciousness, and has been diagnosed with Down Syndrome, if the couple wishes, an abortion should be done.

This benefits everyone. The couple can try again, and someone will avoid the pain from a miserable life.

For those who say we dont have the right to take the life of a "baby", what you gonna do when it is born? What are you going to do after his/her parents die? Will you take care of him/her? If the answer is no, then dont be a hypocrite. Bringing someone here to suffer just because yes is more merciful in the mind of some religious psychos.

I do not agree. While I think it is the right thing to do to consider the father's wishes, too, the woman's body is her own and this is a very personal decision. There is nothing more yours than your body and your life. She absolutely can make this decision on her own. She is the pregnant one.

I agree with Mermaid, especially since complications can happen that result in the death of the woman undergoing labor.

1. The child is not an extension of your body.
2. The mother does not own the child just because it is in her womb.

It is actually scary to see women who believe they have the right to abort a fetus/baby just because they are gestating. BOTH are pregnant, as I said in the previous post.

Besides, if you really think that way, then what responsability does the father have with the mother and baby? He has no duty to sustain you since you can kill the child any moment you want lol. By having no saying if the baby lives or not, you are also telling him he has no responsability towards you.

It's not a child any more than an acorn is a tree. And yes, it is an extension of your body if it cannot live without your body. It's absolutely mine if it's in my uterus.
I guess that's where we differ.

I do have the right to abort a pregnancy. Men don't get pregnant, women do. That's just biology.

What are you talking about, sustaining me? Are you talking about money? Seriously? Hi. It's 2017.

He should get a say, but ultimately he does not get to make the decision. That is completely and exclusively the woman's.

If he want's to piss off because he didn't get his way, fine, PISS OFF!

Wrong. Both are not pregnant. A man has no say in what a woman can do with her body, regardless of the fact that his seed made a fetus. That seed stopped being his property the second it left his body and entered the womans. The resulting pregnancy still belongs to the woman. If laws allowed men to dictate what happens to a womans pregnancy, then rapists would be allowed to force their victims to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term, against her will. Ergo - a man cannot force a woman to stay pregnant if she doesn't want to. Please point out to me, any law in the land of the United States of America, where it states that the "couple" has abortion rights or that the man has the right to prevent a woman from aborting her pregnancy.

Please show me where having Down syndrome leads to pain from a miserable life. Keep in mind, you are talking to a mother OF an adult with Down syndrome and neither of us have ever had a miserable life as a result of her having DS. I have made sure she had all the best that education could give her and I have always taken care to ensure that she grew up happy and well adjusted.

1. The fetus is not a "child" until it is actually born. Until then, it is a parasite living rent free inside a woman.
2. She owns the womb the fetus resides in. Go read Roe v. Wade and learn something.

No sorry, this bullshit is not pro life, but pro birth. There is this fucking bullshit attitude that females whom have abortions are selfish or doing it just to throw a party.

Even with the doctors whom preform them, that is ALSO BULLSHIT to think either they are the female are having fun throwing a party just to piss off the right.

Medical school at that level isn't a fucking trade school like learning to fix cars or air conditioners. In any medical degree, you have to go through a decade of college sometimes even more. The way the right makes it sound, it is as if any pro choice advocate is simply thinking all this is like cutting your fingernails. AND NO, that is not what we are saying.

Now, unless you can 100% of the time insure the health of the baby and the mother, and that 100% of any baby forced to term can be adopted, then my advice IS TO KEEP YOUR FUCKING NOSE OUT OF IT.

It is scary that you think you can control other people's lives. If you are not in the position yourself, you have no fucking right to judge either the female's reasons or the doctor's judgment.

JUST STOP BEING A JUDGMENTAL FUCK........ That is all the right needs to do. I am sorry, but if you outlaw abortions, all the fuck you are going to do is get more females killed.

Even if you can 100% ensure the health of the baby and the mother, it's not anyone's business but the parents'. Ever.

If the right wants some REAL solutions to reduce abortions. HERE IS WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN

STOP selling the bullshit "be fruitful and multiply".

Proved economic and family planning in public schools at a young age.

Provide sex education, including the risk of disease, oral and anal count.

BUT also, provide livable wages for parents so they they can be at home involved in both boys and girls lives.

^^^^^^^^THAT is your long term plan to reduce abortions. Not banning them pushing females back to allies and coat hangers.
