You're not free to say whatever you like here, therefore you're not guaranteed freedom, no. You're free within a typical societal framework.

The last time I was told 'loudly' what the latest rule was, it left me feeling somewhat intimidated about expressing the kind of views I am about to express freely. I think that homosexuality is not a crime anywhere on this planet. Nor is adultery. Nor is blasphemy. There are many states that pretend these acts are crimes. But a genuine crime is not simply something that breaks the law of a country, not even a criminal law. A crime is more a serious transgression against an individual or a group of individuals - one that a community should take seriously. It's a matter of judgement. Everyone's.

Well I dont think those are crimes either, but what do you thing those serious transgressions would be in a general manner?

I went further than you though. I said gay sex, adultery and blasphemy aren't crimes anywhere on the planet. They are acts that some states pretend are crimes. So my first question is do you agree with me on that? If so, then I agree the obvious question is, if those aren't crimes, what are? Well I've taken the first step in saying what I think about that, but I'm not taking another one if people are going to keep coming out with the same old, same old stuff about a crime being something the state determines and we can't oppose that. |
