what if you found out that oxygen wasn't the cause of NDEs, and neither was any of the other current explanations? Would you then believe in NDEs?
I'm pretty sure all of us already "believe in" NDEs. It's the interpretation that differs.
I still don't see what's so inexplicable psychologically about the stuff you're saying.

Jesus shows up every easter. No NDE required.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Different cultures and communities depict different images of Jesus. Where I was born (a Christian village in the Middle East), Jesus is depicted as having black hair and looks Middle Eastern. You might be surprised to know that, in some cultures, Jesus is also depicted as looking Asian.

Don't you think this itself is sufficiently a naturalistic explanation?

Don't you think this itself is sufficiently a naturalistic explanation? Perhaps, but do you think the fact that Christians report these deep experiences with Jesus while Muslims don't see Muhammad proves Christianity?

No, it just shows that Christianity is about a relationship with God through Jesus, while Islam is submission to Allah. Two different ways of thinking about God and/or prophets mean different attitudes among the respective adherents, different sets of doctrines, and differences in visions and such. The differences say nothing, though, about the veracity of either religion/faith.

Grandizer, I was wondering, even though some Muslims say they expect to see Muhammad in heaven and some NDE researchers who were Muslim were surprised Muslims never mention their prophet, do you still think it makes sense Muhammad comes up,less due to your explanation of a different relationships?

Here is a possible explanation, according to this link:
https://listverse.com/2016/01/31/10-surp...r-beliefs/
Quote:One theory suggests that Muslims who experience NDEs may be reluctant to talk about them because NDEs contradict the orthodox teachings of Islam. These people may be afraid of being branded as heretics.

I never consider an NDE worth giving one minute of my short life. Neither, do I Jesus or Muhammed! Fuck them both.
God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!

O-m what do you mean by "Jesus in traditional paintings"? In western Eurpoe and the US that's pretty much "as painted by Titian/Leonardo/Michaelangelo", ie white european. In Greece he's traditionally Greek, in Georgia Georgian and so on.
Whereas in reality if Jesus existed he'd be more like a young Yasser Arafat, being a Semite.
