It's a simple yes or no question... are they distinct from one another or aren't they?

Distinct? They all have fur and mammary glands. Birds and reptiles do not! No mammals lay eggs. So, they are not distinct. They share similarities. Read a high school biology book before you comment on this subject!

Just like "god" and "spirituality", "kinds" means whatever is convenient for the current argument.

Actually there are mammals that lay eggs . But they still have fur and still nurse their young with milk . But huggy will keep shifting the differences  were convenient

If you really knew me this would be an appropriate response. But, since we are talking about mammalian characteristics and not my lifelong sexual practices, I do not see how shame applies!

Nope pointing out all mammals are similar does not belong in the hall of shame .  because as i already showed in my own comment they  still have more in common then not .

You should be embarrassed by your statement of "no mammal lays eggs" alone...

"Scientists have recently estimated that there are approximately 8.7 million species on Earth. They believe that 1-2 million of those species are animals."

That was one hellishly cramped ark if kind is equal to species.

All mammals have common characteristics. That is why they are called "mammals" ! I learned this shit in grade school! Were you home schooled or did you just not pay attention?

They don't need to be to refute your nonsense . They have a sweep of overarching characteristics. Which is why they are classified as mammals .

Nope considering their still mammals .
