More of an Alan Watts-type... not strictly Zen, not strictly Taoist... in fact he's got a bit of Christianity mixed in there... it's more about the messages that the religions bring to the table. But he certainly talks like a Taoist. I thought it was hilarious when all the news sources were asking, "Has Jim Carrey gone crazy?" because he was saying what all the good philosophies have been saying for generations.

He should do one of a guy who got his girlfriend on drugs, gave her herpes, and ultimately drove her to suicide. You know, a self-portrait.

I think the backlash is more about the tweet that went with it, and the source himself. The picture itself is meh.
