Exactly. So it's only righteous and just that we destroy his city and kill the children. I guess they left the pretty young girls behind, that time..but you can't get it all right all the time.

No sorry the claim is nonsense. Your God character doesn't allow suffering because it is good, the God character allows suffering as a prop so that when you are in fear or desperate you turn to him. It is a book of fiction, but I am talking about the intent of the writers. The God character is written like an arsonist who is also the fireman. Like any good mafia boss, has his minions walk into your business, breaks a few things, then threatens you to pay protection money.
