As a totally unrelated aside. If you ever visit Japan at an end of season harvest festival and the flatbed trucks are throwing colored small blocks of colored rice candy off of the back of it. Just like Mardi Gras, you better have the reflexes of Bruce Lee, because the odds are, if you don't the local ladies will STAB YOU with their fingernails because they DONT want a foreigner competing with them. Just like parents in America will fight over soccer game calls.

The real lesson is that they were NOT Japanese, but they were MOTHERS. DONT FUCK WITH MOTHERS!
