Reminds me of the old joke about a priest and a rabbi who go to see a boxing match between Harvey Goldstein and "Irish" Paddy O'Hara. After the meeting at the center of the ring the rabbi notices Paddy crossing himself.
"Hey, Vat's dat?" he asks his priestly fellow sports fan.
"He's making the sign of the cross," replies the priest amiably.
"Does that help," queries the rabbi?
"Not if he can't fight," the priest answers sadly.
