"Arab/wearing veil?we have no table for you...". Paris racist restaurant

One of the strangest headlines I read lately:

Swanky Paris restaurant 'refuses bookings to Arabs and sits ugly diners upstairs'

The chic Paris restaurant L'Avenue might be renowned for its A-list guests like Kim Kardashian, but an investigation has claimed it systematically refuses bookings for "Arabs, women wearing the veil as well as overweight and ugly diners". The restaurant denies the accusations.

This is so sick. Perhaps it's an indication that racist mentality is the same first grade bully mentality.
Islamophobia though is increasing throughout Europe and especially France.

In the middle east, women are expected to cover their faces. In the west, it's considered suspicious activity to walk around in public with your face covered. Not saying the restaraunt isn't racist, but it's funny how different a reaction a veil can get, depending on what country you're in.

Nobody is expected to cover the face, in Egypt you can get kicked out of certain places if you wear face cover -visit the AUC in Cairo to check what I'm saying-:

It IS France, after all.  This is a country not particularly noted for having a rampant policy of tolerating differences (to be fair, though, provincials are a tad more accepting than Parisians).

When I hear the word veil, I think it means the face too.

No, Atlas is right (I had to look it up, not being an authority on the subject) - women covering up regards only the body and the hair.  Some women voluntarily cover the face, but there is nothing in Islam requiring them to do so. Iran and (I think) Saudi Arabia require the veil, but that's a political position, not a religious one.

I would expect Paris to have more tolerance towards different cultures considering the amounts of tourists and even inhabitants in the city. My only theory is that the owner of the restaurant is a sick fuck

When I hear the word veil, I think it means the face too.

Actually it's one of the very ironic points of criticism I have against Sunni Islam: Women are prohibited to cover their faces during prayer.
Covering the face is a mere Nomadic habit that existed in Arabia long before Islam. Saudi Arabia used it as a part in their vicious campaign against women that included preventing females from driving cars, preventing them from traveling alone, and so on. Totally political.

I wonder why "Islamophobia though is increasing throughout Europe and especially France"?  Maybe it's because of the way some obvious muslims tend to act in intolerant and murderous ways toward non-muslims?

Why can't women wear bikinis and Christians have churches in places such as Saudi Arabia?  If muslims want equal rights in non-Islamic countries then they should allow non-muslims to practice their behaviors in Islamic countries.
