I got 15 which came as no surprise. Every test of this type I have ever taken puts me in the Autism range.
I'm curious how they rated the animal questions, especially the one where they compare how much you like people vs. animals.
I have a high degree of empathy for animals - considerably less for people.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

I think I've developed some degree of empathy, largely through watching films and reading books. The animal questions were hard to answer, mostly because I like them (particularly birds; when I mentioned the pigeon poisoning scene in my review of 24 Hour Party People, I pointed out that if they were giving Antibiotics to vultures, it would be unforgivable, but maybe giving pigeons rat poison was less so), but I'd prefer to keep them at a distance, at least for long stretches at a time. It can be hard to tell whether or not it's really worth it.

I have very little empathy. I think caring is a far superior stance when involved in caring for others. You don't have to even like a person to care for them. A simple standard of care and an overall concern for the future of humanity is all it takes. Objectivity can be very helpful when you are a professional care giver. Empathy can be distracting.

I agree 100%. Empathy leads to more immorality than morality. It's overrated.

I agree with Chimp about caring on principle. I guess that's how the fictional Vulcans would see it. One does not necessarily need empathy to see the value in providing care to those that need it. It can be rationalized as a worthy endeavor even it doesn't give you warm fuzzies.
Still, I have a hard time seeing how empathizing with another for their pain can rationalized as a bad thing.

I got 30/80. I enjoy others' company well enough, but have trouble with small talk in social situations and get stressed out if I spend too much time in close quarters with lots of people.

How is anyone getting less than 80/80? Don't you guys know how to take a test?
