I can imagine other types of pushing that takes place in the Navy.  Naughty

I'd bet that sex between men in the Navy happened, but I wasn't party to any of that. I'm hetero...except for a penchant for fire. That's my kink.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

At the end of each class, he says something to the effect of "God bless you."

There are nine of us in the class.  Some of them respond in kind, some of us (myself included) say nothing as we leave for the day.

Today, he brought up god between lecturing on nursing.  He asked us to raise our hands if we believed in God, I did not raise my hand, and some students did raise their hand.  He discussed, though I could tell he was also trying to be humorous about it, how when he was younger he considered himself ugly.  He said that he prayed to god to help him find love when he was older.  He then brought up the fact that he is currently on his fourth marriage, having been divorced three times previously, and he said how this is the last marriage.  He said, jokingly, that he should not have been praying for love and he is done praying for love if his fourth marriage fails because god gives him exactly what he wants.

My personal thoughts: first, as an instructor, he should not be personally bringing up god.  It is unprofessional.  Secondly, how "christian" can he truly be if he has been divorced three times? (This is the same instructor who I mentioned in my Random Thoughts thread as pinging on my gaydar.)

Seems some prayers from the Christians here are being answered. How about that, things may be looking up.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Kit, any chance you can move out of Florida? Because, shit, that kind of scenario is the kind of thing that would get an instructor fired up here.

The weather sucks for 6-8 months a year here, but the people here can at least keep their opinions on faith quiet.

I am not going to overly concern myself with it.

The instructor is the director of the school/facility, and the nursing home where I will be working is personally paying for the training.

Ironically, he was teaching us that we should not bring up religion or politics with our fellow employees. Also, when dealing with the residents at the nursing home, we are not to personally discuss our beliefs with them, yet we are to respectfully accept their beliefs. I can handle that.

He actually might be, considering that he is Cuban.  He understands English, has a thick Cuban accent, yet he still has pronunciation trouble and relies on us English speaking students to correct him sometimes.  I do know that Scientologists around here enjoy recruiting foreign people, because they're more susceptible due to the language barrier.

He has not used the word "clear" that I know.

When I went to Boot Camp I was required to attend a religious service once a week. I went to the one that had cute girls serving cookies and soda. Can't remember which one it was.
