Some people are simply lost causes when it comes to basic decency or using their allegedly God-given brains. The god and the eternal torture chamber may be fictional, but GC's attitude towards people who reject his belief system is utterly inexcusable. I find it reassuring that he, or someone like him, would have a hard time getting away with this kind of harassment in my workplace. At the very least he'd end up with a written reprimand on his file and orders to cease and desist, and if it was persistent enough he could be fired with cause. And I share your contempt for him. I would not trust him with any task whatsoever within my circle of influence, regardless of his credentials. When I was still a Crazy Cat Lady with a Dark Legion of felines, one of my favourite sayings was "I wouldn't trust you to change my cats' litter boxes." Alas, the Dark Legion is no more (all nine of them reached their respective Best-Before dates) and I can no longer use that line.

No one has reached that status, man is created by God and man can't even make a piece of grass and we know all the chemicals contained in a piece of grass. Until you can create a piece of living grass I would say you have no foundation on which to question God. GC
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Please distinguish between those who claim they know more, and those who actually do know more. There is nothing in the Bible to indicate that the deity described therein is particularly intellligent. There is nothing wrong with questioning, unless you value obedience over knowledge. I'm not in favour of that, to be honest. Just quoting it is one thing, but otherwise openly threatening people (even when it's on behalf of your imaginary friend) is messed up. Your perception of a threat has no validity to it at all. Let's examine this a little more closely. Threat- a statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage or other hostile action on someone in retribution for something done or not done. This definition shows that I would have to be the one who could punish you by placing you in hell and that is not possible because I can't be the ultimate Judge which God is. The major reason I can't be your judge is because your actions are against God not me. I would also need to have the desire to see you in hell and I do not, if I did I wouldn't be here trying to warn others of an impending doom, a doom for those who reject the Son of God. I would leave you to your devises and worry not what happens to your eternal soul. So by the above definition I'm not threatening, you are just wanting to complain because you are unsure I'm correct in what I state is the outcome for those who reject Jesus and His work for mankind. As stated I have no authority to threaten, judge and punish, but I do have a responsibility as a Christian to warn people of this impending doom. It is then your own decision that will result in where you will spend eternity. I rarely am the first to bring up the eternal punishment, it is usually some atheist trying to show off and it then results in a response from me. The above bold by me, stated by you is a threat, it holds all the truth of a threat and I see it that way, but I'm not interested in any action being taken against you, unless someone does take a pot shot at me. Now all the atheist cry babies can come out and defend his statement, I expect it from many on this site because I have seen the pettiness of some here. GC

GC, you are deliberately trying to create fear in people so that they'll subscribe to the same beliefs as you hold.
You may not have the power to make the threat come true, but you are clearly using psychological abuse as a means of coercion. RE: Question to theists

He's saying, "Join my religion or my mate will torture you". This could be seen as a warning rather than a threat, if it wasn't for the fact that he's also saying how awesome he thinks his mate is, and how justified he is torturing people.
PS: he can't possibly think that these scare tactics are ever going to work on us forum regulars, so he must be trying to intimidate new members and passers by. Classy. Feel free to send me a private message.
