What do you think of Wicca?
RE: What do you think of Wicca?
The thing is, the dark side is in all of us and for those who follow different beliefs, it’s a path to enlightenment.

In other news, I’m going to buy some stones and candles for a possible spell I’m thinking about. I like incantations because items are not required but I like rituals. It’s the one thing I miss about Catholic mass.

You;re mixing your religious metaphors to the point of incoherence and even so, it has nothing to do with the lunacy Mystic is talking about.

Why not just go to mass?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

God is the best in guiding humans, I rather not choose what people make up, but rely on God for guidance who is sufficient for his servants in help and guidance.

All reasoning points to Abraham's path and all foolishness in my view, is the path of those who follow their desires rather then guidance from God.

I believe in God and don’t see anything wrong with performing a ritual in terms on visualizing intent. Really no different than Sufism as a mystical sect of Islam or lighting a candle before meditating. I think the term spell is what upsets you lol

I’m not mixing anything. And I don’t have a desire to go to mass.

I ask about going to mass, btw, because you don;t seem to be interested in the religion of wicca so much as spell and ritual.  The concern in this is twofold.  Magic spells aren;t real, and that;s going to end up being less than satisfying, right off the bat.  It doesnt even have any demonstrable effect on "visualizing intent". The ritual, otoh..is intrinsically tied to the religion and not the magic - and you;re not going to get anything close to a mass unless you look for a -very- well establioshed coven.  Even then, it may not speak to you due to your catholic upbringing and the fact that this desire for pomp springs directly out of missing catholic mass.

Magic, even in wicca..is poorly regarded as being the least serious or salient expression of the faith.  The subject of a great deal of misinformation.

Of what I’ve been reading, one can follow any particular faith belief or none at all, and experience parts of Wicca. Benefit, from parts of Wicca. Like anything, it doesn’t need to be all or nothing. And to attend a Catholic mass, I don’t believe those things nor follow them, so what would be the point? The reason the mass is moving for many is because they believe what is being preached.

The salesman will always tell you that anyone can purchase their product and benefit.

Here;s another book I can recommend..it;s not about wicca..at least not directly, but it cuts to the heart of why wicca hits home for some (and also why any religion hits home for anyone).

https://www.amazon.com/Religion-Nature-D...0791454541
Quote:The beauty, sublimity, and wonder of nature have been justly celebrated in all of the religious traditions of the world, but usually these traditions have focused on beings or powers presumed to lie behind nature, providing nature’s ultimate explanation and meaning. In a radical departure, Donald A. Crosby makes an eloquent case for regarding nature itself as the focus of religion, conceived without God, gods, or animating spirits of any kind, and argues that nature is metaphysically ultimate. He explores the concept of nature, the place of humans in nature, the responsibilities of humans to one another and to their natural environments, and offers a religious vision that grants to nature the kind of reverence, awe, love, and devotion formerly reserved for God. Crosby also shares his personal journey from theistic faith to a religion of nature.

Sufism is not right because they follow people instead of God's chosen and make up their own rituals. They are not a submissive people but a people who love to associate in making religion others with God.

They are right about oneness of existence and a lot of their spiritual knowledge is right, but they are totally wrong in how they follow leaders that attribute purity to themselves while Quran condemns that in multiple places and they innovate with respect to the religion which has no traces in either Quran and ahadith let alone proven by insights of reflection.

If Sufism is correct, then it would be a paradox the argument for guidance and Prophethood would fail in Quran, and hence it's paradoxical. It never makes sense to talk about appointed leaders or protection from God from evil, and then follow people without proof of their sainthood or leadership people attribute to them.

The reality is they follow their leaders and have little to do with Mohammad and his family.
