What Are You Passionate About?

What Are You Passionate About?
Apart from religion and politics (I have a pretty fair idea where all of you stand on those), is there something so important to you that you think about it every day?  Could be anything - a hobby, a person, a game, films, books - just anything at all.

For me, it's proper behaviour and good manners.  I don't mean etiquette (I couldn't give a rat's charbroiled arse if someone uses the soup spoon when they should use the dessert spoon), but simply behaving well towards other people. Bad behaviour gets me angry, because I see it as a sign of a sick society - when the majority ignore simply things like holding doors for other people or saying 'please', 'thank you' and 'you're welcome', I can't escape the feeling that things are on the skids. Conversely, when I see someone go out of their way to be nice, it gives me the warm fuzzies and I think that maybe things aren't so bad after all.

I am very passionate about making a game like Jedi Academy (fluid third person lightsaber combat), so much so that I have written up a backstory for an entirely different world (for copyright reasons) and have planned out the most important game mechanics, and figured out the engine I would like to use to make it... But my programming, modelling and animating skills are not up to the task. Sad

I'm passionate about my kid and my garden.
My new job I'm quite passionate about also, but that's only seven months old and that could change.
It's the best job I've ever had and also the best company I've ever worked for.
I think I may have got lucky for once.

Food.   Specifically, alternative production models with explicit application to low income areas and producers with marginal soils and/or acreage.

Right now, I'm working on the burley transition here in rural ky with non-profit outreaches, UK, and EKU.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Somehow... I'm not surprised

Life on this planet. Nature in its untouched-by-man-state and as it appears when enhanced deliberately by us in pursuit of aesthetics.

Novels. I’m like that guy in the twilight zone episode after every thing has been wiped out but the library is still there and he breaks down with glee for finally having the time to read. Only, unlike that guy, my glasses are just fine.

Traveling, viewing art, enjoying food and playing cards with the wifey.

Walking and hanging with my dogs and my dog loving friends.

Trying to back up far enough to get the big picture about life and stuff.
