Play your cards right, and you could develop a lucrative side hustle here in America:

[Earnest Christian television host]: But as a scientist, a surgeon, do you really believe in Darwinism?

[Valkyrie]: As a surgeon, I'm confronted daily with the improbable but magnificent intricacies of the human body. For me to believe that my patients are just the result of random occurrences and blind chance -- you know, like a tornado passing through a junk yard and making a space shuttle -- takes more faith than to believe this amazing design doesn't have a designer, that his name is Jesus, and that he loves us very much.

***Enthusiastic applause from the earnest studio audience***

[Earnest and increasingly smug Christian television host]: I couldn't agree more, Dr. Valkyrie. It saddens me when I hear the rantings of the New Atheists and realize they really have no sense of wonder at God's creation. So sad!

[Valkyrie]: Yes. Yes, it is.

[Earnest, increasingly smug, and strangely well coiffed Christian television host]: I understand you have a new book coming out, doctor. Care to tell us about it?

[Valkyrie]: It's called Crazy Lady With a Scalpel. It's my testimony about how lost I was as a woman, as a doctor, until I asked Jesus into my life. Ever since then, my life has been transformed in ways I happily embellished in my book, which is available at all Christian bookstores for only $29.99. Praise God!

***Murmurs of 'amen' from the audience, followed by warm applause***

Let me know if you need an agent. I don't know anything about being an agent, but I'll fake it 'til I make it -- like your Christianity. Call me! There's money to be made.

To be a Christian - you have to get baptized.

To be a fundamentalist Christian you have to get baptized, and develop a attitude of superiority.

To be a creationist - they have to drill a hole in your head and suck out half your brains.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes,
always perseveres.

Love never fails.

It is through the great gift of love with our soulmate/other half that we experience some of the most spiritual. moving aspects of life.  It is everything and the only thing that really matters; our whole reason for being. We are caught up in a society and culture of Tv nation trash and we are all far too influenced by advertising and other peoples opinions. There is a great song by Breaking Benjamin that men wrote for other men that speaks to this.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWaB4PXCwFU

Nice idea. But I have too much self respect to pander to these idiots, even to fleece them.

Well, be fair - they both have a 'foam' option.

Absolutely.

I am happy to see such a positive post.

I would go a bit farther here. The love of a soulmate I see as a base and support for all the rest of love in one's life. It is the grounding and example, and also the launch-pad to everything else that is important.

For example, I think of all the musicians I know, and one music therapist who does great work with troubled little kids. All of them loved music first, and studied it after. Nobody studies music for years in order to decide if they love it or not. They are passionate first, and devote themselves to it in full faith. I think most of the really important things in life are like this.

You are right that we live in a world of TV trash. All of it is designed to misguide our love toward stupid stuff. But what we love is really what we are, and the greatest treasure of a finite life.

The fact that people mock this shows we all really live in Trump Land now. We mock what's obviously better, and poke a thumb in the eye of what might help us, just because it is a momentary self-pat on the back.
