Make the "civil" discussion part of the forum invisible to non members

RE: Make the "civil" discussion part of the forum invisible to non members
Oh, for the love of FSM. You guys are being such snowflakes about this. God forbid some poor, unsuspecting member get slapped in the face with a polite and thoughtful discussion going on between theists and atheists, lol.

Yeah I was on my phone and apparently it doesn't like that word.

Siri is fun to screw with when getting it to recognize cuss words and sex acts. Not that I have tried.(COUGH)...... I don't have Siri, but my friend does, so when we have been on Skype, I have asked him to repeat my words to see how it responds.

The conspiracy.  That would be epic shit man.

I don't know why I'm having so much fun with this.  Maybe I enjoy the pain of all those who took puck shots at me in the past, and now they look shameful.

Kudos if you did it pull it off, but I know you didn't lol.  Tibs should be the one to take the heat.

Sorry, lady. I disagree. This is not about being snowflakes. It’s about dicks being offended when dicks are thrown at their face, walking out, coming back with privileges, having a dick free zone, still being dicks outside of their zone, and bragging about it. But whatever. This might be the last I’ll say about this. No promises, though, so don’t quote me.

This. It is uncivilised blood and mayhem, with lynches and deaths... just about brings a tear to my eyes. When is the next game coming?

For the record, MK had nothing to do with the civility section and wasnt part of the PM with Tibs. If I remember correctly, he was originally against the idea in the first place.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I don’t think the form should be invisible. The simplest reason being it shows a civil discussion is going on instead of a wankfest. The same could be said for debate or 69. If you don’t want to see the content, don’t click on it. This is a forum not a clickbate avoidance training session.
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

I get where you’re coming from, but I can’t help but think this is going to level the playing field in a very revealing way. Some theists in this group are better at civility than others, and some of them tend to resort to insults when their points are refuted.  So, now EVEYONE has to play by the same rules.  Theists have to keep it civil and actually address the rebuttal if and when someone proves a point of theirs wrong, and Atheists have to follow by these same rules as well, so noone can cry, “the atheists didn’t want to talk; they were just mean to me!”  I think it’s going to be interesting, if nothing else.

Edit: Just to clarify, I didn’t mean that the people who object to the subforum itself are being snowflakes. Valid points have been made on both sides of the argument. I am talking about the people who want it hidden from the forum at large because they don’t even want to have to see it. I think that’s a bit ridiculous, frankly.

I’m sorry that you are so opposed to civil and rational discussion.

I’m so sick of seeing this bullshit remark already. Being opposed to the civil discussion subforum does not mean being opposed to civil and rational discussion. And who are you to say what is rational and what isn’t anyway?
