Location?
This is a long shot but, does anyone here live in BC Canada? Near Vancouver?

I just can't find any atheist groups (or freethinkers, or humanists, nothing!) that meet regularly around here and I would really like to find one.

I'd start one but my house couldn't support it. I wonder.. my local community center might host such a thing?

Oh I did searches online but, no hits. It's mostly my area, only a few thousand people, and too many churches. There are groups in the Vancouver proper but, that's a big drive for me.

I could visit them once in awhile (that was one of the ones I did stumble across, thanks for the link though) I'm mostly hoping for local events. I actually live a ways north of Vancouver and have no reliable way to get into the city often.

You can start a meetup and do brunches or stuff like that, you don't necessarily have to have the meetings at your house.

Indeed, ask your local church if they rent out the space. Smile

We once tried that ...

A local worship / community centre displayed that they had a free room room available for "All Belief Groups" but weren't keen on having an atheist meeting there ... funny that Dodgy

However we did recently attend a "Roast a Christian" seminar, I don't think they we're expecting the kind of questions we through at them ...
