Here, lemme show you how it goes.
"Why, yes..yes, I do think that's just as ridiculous as a thunderbolt tossing santa in the stratosphere"
-easy.
I get that you think that we're talking about something else, that it's Not That, but..there, I wouldn't even bother to argue with you. It would be futile. I only seek to help you understand what other people see, and why they say what they have..because that obviously sailed right over your nugget by reference to your responses. You don't have to agree, but it would probably help if you knew what it was you were disagreeing with, eh?
I don't have a problem with answering questions, but I don't just answer questions because someone asks. If I felt anything useful could be accomplished by answering questions about "magic books" and "thunderbolts", then I would've given you a considerate reply. Regardless, I gave you my thoughts on what you said and asked. If that offends you them I'm sorry, but I don't respond to things frivolously, especially when I try to have a serious conversation with someone.
If you want to have discussions about magic books, elves, tooth fairies, bigfoot, or anything of the like, I'm glad to respond, but I don't get too yippity over things like that, so expect a response accordingly. Now if you want to discuss measurable theories, historical data, quantum physics, and similar things that require analysis and critical thinking, then that's more up my alley, and you'll probably find me more cooperative with answering thought provoking questions.

Our monthly expenses would drop immensely if we did,and this would substantially improve our situation. My wife would be very happy. And so would I. So I have an audacious proposal. It probably won't happen, especially in this present economy. Here's my proposal. In the past, generous private benefactors, on their own initiative, have paid me substantially to research and write various online works (such as Why I Am Not a Christian and Was Christianity Too Improbable to Be False). Could there be anyone else out there willing to fund my work? I'd like to find several benefactors, like those who've approached me before, with similar resources and interests, who would love to pool together to pay me to undertake a serious project over the next four months. That project can be anything, whatever this group most wants to see me complete this year. I'm open to suggestions (from those who really do have a mind to fund a project). But I'll use the following as a prominent example.

Mary had a little lamb,
She also had a duck.
She put them on the mantelpiece

Do you even logic? No one is interested in your ad hominem arguments, Huggy. Show where the arguments are wrong or shove off.

Neither Antipas nor Archelaus were kings of all of Judea. "King of Judea" is a reference to Herod the Great.
So you are arguing the reference material that says Antipas was KNOWN AS THE KING OF JUDEA?!?!
Fine reference material please.
I'm not much of a faith man myself. I need hard historical evidence to believe.. I'm not one to just believe just because you say so. So i need some sort of authoritative reference that topples the material that I posted that says Antipas Was Indeed KNOWN AS THE KING OF JUDEA.
Or can't you grasp the idea that the bible is right and you little B/S contradiction was created off the cuff from someone with basic insolary knowledge of the time he was speaking of. (Did know Herod had a son named the same as he and as with any king passed his kingdom to his son) It's clear you message wasn't research and ill prepared. verses a document who has stood the test of time/2000 years or so of scrutiny.. Don't you think such a major error would have been brought up before you plagiarized this 1940 objection?

Huggy, you dumb fuck, Carrier knows more history in his little toe than you know in your whole useless body. And he knows your godboy jesus isn't "historical." Sucks to be you but then that is your choice isn't it?

Do you bother to think before you speak? The majority of historians agree that Jesus existed, so why would I have to disprove a fringe theorist?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historicity_of_Jesus
Quote:Virtually all New Testament scholars and Near East historians, applying the standard criteria of historical investigation, find that the historicity of Jesus is effectively certain
Quote:While scholars have criticized Jesus scholarship for religious bias and lack of methodological soundness,[nb 8] with very few exceptions such critics generally do support the historicity of Jesus and reject the Christ myth theory that Jesus never existed.
