Some atheists are angry, some theists are angry. Some people are angry. I find that when a person is angry and lashing out if you try to relate to them on a human to human level it helps. We all get angry sometimes. It’s human nature, I think, to get overly passionate about something as a result of a traumatic experience with it. Religion isn’t always bad, but when it is bad it can really be very traumatic for the people involved.

Also, I’m pretty sure most atheists are agnostic. You can’t be just agnostic. You either believe in a god or you don’t. If you don’t you’re an agnostic atheist.

U started of reasonable but then u just ended up like the rest. Trying to put a belief label next to my agnostic position.
All after everyone said they didn't want labels
I don't care about beliefs. They mean nothing to me. Their just based on feelings. Thats all it is. FEELINGS.

The biggest question is in regard to knowledge
"Do i know there aren't any type of Gods? Including extraterrestrial and some far-out thing?"

The next best question would be based on thought, not belief.
"Do I think """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

Belief is nothing. Its the fairytale u read to ur kids before bed. Its the fiction section of the library where girls are reading romance novels.

Im tempted to say if u must put labels on me then call me agnostic theist. Cos yall pushing me away by trying to force beliefs onto me.

But Iv got a question that will ruffle some feathers I think... It will need its own thread.

Anyway answer the questions on my op people. A hand full of simple questions.
Why the anger? The anti theism? The preaching? The hate?

bold mine

Because that's the limited knowledge that you've chosen to focus on. Not really good for knowledge when you limit the playing field, but it is really good when you have an agenda.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Do you know I can’t be an atheist where I live because I could lose my friends, my reputation, even my job? I have to listen to the hateful comments about atheism and the preaching in silence and pretend it doesn’t hurt my feelings. Like I said, hate and anger are on both sides. Hatred, in my opinion is usually a result of fear and ignorance. Preaching from atheists? I don’t know about that. Maybe it happens occasionally.

I believe that most atheists, like most theists, are good people who just want to believe or not believe in peace. There are angry and hateful people in every group but they’re the loud minority not the whole of the group.

Because they're humans, and humans do crappy things.
The word bed actually looks like a bed.

For me it's caffein. If someone expects me to be nice and not rip their personal skydaddy a new one they'd better bring me coffee... and none of that shit from Starbucks.

Hello! Smile

So.... I identify myself as a 'Non-theist' as I feel it's a good fit.

I'm not angry.

I fail to see any evidence to indicate the presence of Odin, Zeus, Yahwey etc it's as simple as that.

No hate, no preaching just a simple reply post.

Cheers.

Yes, I get angry at religion being used to justify oppression and bigotry. Yes, I get angry at religion being used to deny scientific fact. No, I will not apologize for that. Do not confuse anger with bigotry. I still see good in most humans, but that does not make every claim one makes true by default. There  are oppressed religious people in the world, certainly. But in the west, having your claims ridiculed, blasphemed or criticized is not a death sentence as it can be in more closed states in the world.

Our species existed long before any written religion, or nation. Our species behaviors are not being divinely handed down to us from above. Our species ability to be cruel or compassionate are in our evolution, not old mythology. It was understandable that people wrote those things and bought those claims back then when they didn't have benefit of modern knowledge, but we know better now.

If you can understand why you rightfully reject claims of Thor or Apollo, then it should not be that much of a stretch to consider why atheists reject your claims as well.
