Looking over that list you linked to earlier makes me somewhat jealous.  Not that I actually have unfulfilled entertainment needs, but greed is a powerful master.

Throttle that jelly, limit yourself to one new app a month.

I'm a late adopter, so it's great to have all the BS apps weeded out for me. Being 68ish I have less desire for the "cool" stuff apps.

I use Chromecasting for multiple things from casting music from various web based music apps to casting NFL games from my streaming service's DVR to watching a live broadcast via Chromecast from a web app of my cable TV provider.  I have issues with all of them.

Since I don't have an iOS based device and cannot afford one, I'll take your assertion that it is problem free on that platform with a grain of salt.  It is not so on the PC, in spite of your assertion to the contrary.

(As a side note, I've found the mirror option, when I've been stupid enough to try it, to be the worst offender of all.)

Again.  YMMV.

That's weird as shit...what's happening?  There shouldn't be any actual means of failure on mirror mode unless your pc is, itself, glitching right the fuck out.  All it does is send screencaps to your tv at 24fps.

(I've come to realize that I'm super lucky with my iOS shit...I don't have any of the problems that I hear other people commonly have, so...you know..: crosses fingers: )

I have no idea what the issue is. Like many people, in the modern world, I expect technology to 'just work', and when it doesn't, I quickly become interested in something else.

I go with intimidation/threats of violence.

If that doesn't work I read the manual.

If you're just using it to stream video content, download Kodi then put in a few add-ons and you should be good.  You can watch/download pretty much any movie and stream it right from the app. Live TV is also pretty simple to access, unless it's something like a PPV, then those specific servers end up getting overloaded on big events.
