Except that it probaly wouldn't. People would just pay it. It would be the new normal.
Dont get me wrong, I think that it should matter to people. Simply noting that it doesn't. If the carbon tax difference between bounty paper towels and "other x" is 50 cents (and that's aggressive as fuck) then I pay 50cent more for bounty paper towels tomorrow. That's why a carbon tax is not a solution, but a profiteering trade scheme.
just to add to the above, if we want a solution, then we can't leave anything to individual or market election. Everyone pays the 50cent tax for paper towels...period.
