If not, please clarify.

Who else is there to blame? Considering we live in an informational age where knowledge is at anyone's fingertips and they refuse to tackle it. It's like if we were living in a world which streets were filled with gold coins and there were still poor people because they refuse to pick up any gold.

I never suggested there was anyone else to blame I just wanted to clarify whether or not I was getting what you were saying. I tend to agree, that if you don't choose to see the evidence is there, it's not really my fault if you lost your job because you couldn't stop arguing with your coworkers about the Earth being flat or if your relatives can't stand spending time with you because it's so important for you to push your dogma on them.

Even when Flat-Earthers conduct their OWN experiments that prove them wrong, they won't admit they're wrong.

(By the way, the documentary in the link I gave is called Behind the Curve on Netflix, I watched it recently which is why I brought this up)

I once joined the flat earth society forum. Honestly couldn't tell who was taking the piss and who wasn't.

I was savagely attacked when I mentioned the tragedy of Christopher Colon who sadly sailed off the edge of the world were has was eaten one of the turtles.

Yea, there are certainly a lot of trolls. There's a lot of speculation that the entire movement was started by 4chan trolls... I'm not sure how true any of that is but it's something I've seen said before. I knew of flat Earth forums as early as 2008 existing. I was a teenager then and was very confused by the whole thing and sort of just shook my head at it. Now, I know several people in real life who legitimately believe the Earth is flat.

Address their points, if you wish, but don't debate with them. Talk about them, not to them.

There is another idea that these people are holding fixed beliefs that will never change in the fact of evidence or reason.

After having very few, but intense, interactions ith flat-earthers, I've ultimately decided that these conversations are not worth having. I think that some people are prone to conspiracy and will shout conspiracy no matter what happens, where it happens or who is involved. I think having some sort of ominous group to blame for the bad things that happen in the world gives some people a strange sense of comfort.

What do you guys think and why?

I have yet to meet a serious flat earther. They're pranksters.  We had one post here a couple of weeks ago, and he was immediately banned for posting a link to his book. When I checked out his book, I found what I always find. The book was a prank and didn't pretend to be anything but a prank. It was a picture book, with very few words, and the words were humorous. "Do you have a stupid friend who thinks that the world is a spinning globe? Then ask your stupid friend why water doesn't fly off of the face of the earth because of centrifugal force!" And then it shows a humorous picture of a spinning wet ball with water flying off of it.

Our local retards took the guy seriously-- and that's the real joke. Tell people that the earth is flat, and people will immediately tell you how stupid they are. It actually is pretty funny.

The modern flat earth community is sincere.  It's just that they're generally religious conspiracy theorists...perfect POE material.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Yep. To claim it is an "internet sensation" ignores the reality that this has been a thing for longer than the 'net existed.

In every single discussion that I have been in about flat earthers, the people who took them seriously constantly exhibited stupidity. Flat earthers are all about how people with borrowed knowledge have delusions of sophistication. They are the caveman who has been given a stainless steel knife. Almost immediately, that caveman will start having delusions of sophistication because he will imagine that other cavemen don't understand metal the way that he does.

Yeah, and that humorously worded book with the funny pictures was totally serious, dude.
