The unofficial random Triva thread.......
Ok, this is for any subject, history, politics, art, music, sports, whatever.

And all the answers to be deemed correct must start with,

"The answer is"........

For example,

History, "What group of people were eventually were overthrown out of Spain by the Moors in 711ce"

"The answer is, the Visagoths".

Or,

Sports, "What was the name of the early days of pro football formation, that was eventually banned due to too many severe injuries."

"The answer is, "The Flying V, or the Flying Wedge, a kickoff strategy where players would interlock their arms."

I'll go first. This one should be easy considering I have talked about it in recent posts in the past couple of months.

"Name the code name of the failed operation Hitler used in is major attempt at attacking Russia".

Then after the question is answered, you ask your own.

The answer is Operation Barbarossa.

From who did Europeans buy New York?

From who did Europeans buy New York?

Trump would be to sarcastic an answer, not to mention wrong era.

I don't know the full answer, but if I am not mistaken, the original name of NYC was "New Amsterdam"?

I am not answering in the correct response because I know that was not the question, just adding to this.

But here is the correct response I hope.

"The answer is, the Lanape native tribe, from the Dutch".

"What Watergate operative, later to be convicted, attended Fordham University graduating in 1952"?

History, "What is the structure's style name of the monument that is in the center of St Peter's Square, and who originally brought it to Rome. And no, it was not the church."

What actually happened was that the Europeans that wanted the site lavished some Native Americans who were just passing through with stuff and thought they'd purchased it from the owners.

Its like buying the Brooklyn bridge from some people who were just crossing the bridge THEN for the rest of history acting exactly like they'd bought it.

Anyhoo I'll let you have it cos for some reason I asked an arsehole question that everyone knows the wrong answer to.

Ok?  I wouldn't put it that way. Considering how many different groups went through that same land, it would be one of those "depends upon whom you ask".

Whadda bout my new questions? See prior posts.

"Name the Watergate Operative who was later convicted whom graduated from Fordham University in 1952".

Or

"What is the name of the structure style of the monument in the center of St Peter's Square and who originally brought it to Rome" And no, it was not the church. Hint.... The Washington Monument in DC is considered the same style structure.

You can have a "Phone a friend" or a "street shout out" and yes, I am parodying "Who wants to be a Millionaire and Cash Cab". Translation, google searches are welcome.

One US cabinet-level Secretary held such a position with four consecutive Presidents. Can you name him?

The theme of this thread is to ANSWER THE FUCK FIRST, then ask a new question.

Damn man, don't make me regret you helping me survive a hurricane. ASIDE, awesome cat joke in the other thread.

But, I will make the attempt in any case.

"The answer is James Willson, Secretary of Agriculture whom served under McKinley, T Roosevelt and Taft. But that is only three. So."

I am not talking about the OP other than the rules.

So the last unanswered questions were mine.

"What Watergate Operative, later convicted graduated from Fordham University in 1952?"

Or

"What is the name of the structure style of the monument in the center of St Peter's Square and who originally brought it to Rome?" Hint, the Washington monument is based on this same ancient style. The Vatican only moved this monument locally, but originally they did not build it, nor did the structure originate in Rome.. There is a specific name for the shape of such a structure.

G. Gordon Liddy.

Obelisk/Caligula (although I don't think you ought construct questions that have two answers).
