Ask a guy who's living in a van down by the river.

RE: Ask a guy who's living in a van down by the river.
Our house is sold, the purchase of our new house fell through and we're vacationing from the 23rd to the 29th so we are going to move into a hotel when our RV park lease runs out on the 18th.

We hope we'll have a new property identified soon and be able to close when we get back.

Time for an update on this adventure?

We moved out of the trailer last Friday, staying at my mom's until we leave for Baja on Thursday. No plan for when we get back yet.

We hit a snag on the 2nd home purchase - the house has a new roof, but it was installed incorrectly by the contractor and as a result has to be redone. We're waiting for the seller's response to the repair request, but since the roof is never going to pass a competent inspection, it's going to need to be done. We're rescinding the offer if they don't either replace it or reduce the price by the cost of replacement (about 13.5K).

It's otherwise a very solid house with great bones and we'd prefer to not have to rescind, but we have been keeping track of inventory and have other options. I must admit I'm growing weary of shelling out $600 a pop for failed inspections. Beats buying a pig in a poke though.

You and Ktiiy have a great time in Baja and enjoy the mental escape. I'm kinda bummed for you with the house flip time. Our market is still about a week for turnover time.
