Trump's catering to the far right.

Trump's catering to the far right.
It is, in my opinion, the 1000-lb elephant in the room, namely, Trump's appointing of far right judges to the federal judiciary.  Question is, "Will such get him a second term?"  But, as long as he caters to the far right, they will support him, no matter what "high crimes and misdemeanors" that he commits.  Can he bamboozle his way into a second term while supporting a minority who is using the Judiciary to terrorize the majority?

The way that 'Murica is going, the way the country is declining socially, I wouldn't be surprised if he was elected for a second term.

He wouldn't be in office if some of the "middle" didn't buy into it. Better pay attention dems (and pubs).

If think the country needs a centrist option in the next election. I don't want Trump, but I don't want far left/social either.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

Trump has lost the middle-lane independents and they're needed to win. I have a feeling that whoever wins the Democratic priorities will have a hard time capturing that demographic as well, for the mirror reason the Republicans have. Republican primaries (IMHO) have become a race to the right, moderates are weeded out early.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

I wouldn't mind seeing Pete Buttigieg becoming president, but as homophobic as this country still is it might be a stretch.

Unless people see him as they did Obama, then he might have a chance.

It seems simple math.

The far right is about 1/3 of the right - the other 2/3 split between centrists of varying degree of left and right.

If President Trump concentrates on the far right - he is likely too lose between 1/3 and 2/3 of the ( R ) party.

As long as the ( D )s don' t make the same mistake of catering to the far left - creating a mirror situation - but stay left centrist - it' s unlikely they could lose the election.

A quiet moderate with a bit of charisma would win by a landslide.

Didn't seem to fucking help having a centrist run last time.

She was a centrist (at least on paper), but, she looked like a liberal (which she probably was and is, anyway).  And, a lot of people hated her and/or where envious of her.

It is incredibly difficult to unseat an incumbent, as they already have the upper hand.

The Kochs, Mercers, RNC and Super PACS are going to give him a huge flush of money - while the democratic nominees will be campaigning for months and dividing up a smaller pot.

He has a 24/7 "news" propaganda machine at his disposal. And plenty of people who either like his disgusting behavior, or are willing to overlook it because jesus and Abortion.

It's a huge uphill battle. Sad
