Possibly! Probably why most corporate restaurants drug test their employees. It was the '70s.

Ah, the '70s. They tell me I had a great time...

Changing the subject a bit- I was seventeen and working at a pizza joint that had a brick pizza oven. Temp was 500 degrees. When it was busy we would have to put some of the pizzas about arm length deep in the oven. If you happened to accidentally touch the top or bottom of oven (it was about 10 -12 inches from top to bottom) Your hand would jerk in the opposite direction. So, by the time you pulled your arm out your hand would have multiple burns. I held the record at 5. This is about burned knuckles.

I know the feeling, my arms look like bar codes, especially under black light, looks weird at night clubs.
I've worked many brick pizza ovens and we always had pizza shovels.
Easy to get the pizzas in and out, but hard to keep turning pizzas in the direction of the wood fire to avoid burning.
Anyway, if you want a good burn in the kitchen, pour toffee on your skin.
And while you're at it, try wiping it off with a tea towel.
I learnt the hard way and wiped all the top few layers of skin from my forearm.

My ex-wife and I were both chefs.
We were always in a competition of who had the best war wound from work.
One night I stabbed myself, almost through the palm of my hand.
I felt that I would win the game that week, until I got home and found out my ex was tinkering with car while it was running and severed her finger up to the first knuckle.
Fucking competitive bitch she was. :-)
