I have little sympathy. You voted a clown into office, no you have a clown in charge. Not my job to sort out your political screw ups. It's your's.

Pro Tip: hand wringing is useless

Not everybody voted this asswipe into office, and I'd have to say that the number of persons of color who did is vanishingly small. The popular vote was 3 MILLION against this asswipe. I'm white and you can be assured that I didn't vote for that turd, either. You are out of line with this accusation.

I told her as much.
Okay.

A bit paranoid, in my opinion, but okay. I won't claim that the concern is completely unfounded.

This is YOUR projection, not mine. I simply relayed what I've been told by multiple friends of mine and in no way implied that I knew where she lived or what type of neighborhood she's from. You're the one being presumptuous here, not me.

If she's that concerned, don't go outside with your cane. Figure out an alternative. Problem solved. I'm sure it's tough enough living as a disabled person, let alone having to worry about the police thinking you have a weapon. But at the end of the day if the thought scares you THAT MUCH, do something about it.

Don't be mad, bro.
I acknowledged your expertise and authority by virtue of your having "lots of black friends"....Lol

I just thought it was worth pointing out that their experiences aren't necessarily BQ's experiences.

Quote:If she's that concerned, don't go outside with your cane. Figure out an alternative. Problem solved.

Going outside without her cane is not a feasible solution to her problem.
She is blind. She needs it to navigate her surroundings and ambulate safely.

Didn't say it scared me THAT MUCH tough. I said it was was a legitimate concern, but made it clear that she that shouldn't allow it to stop her from living her life.
BQ was the one who stated was scared, not Thena. Please note that BQ and Thena are two entirely different and separate individuals....Lol

I offered her a sound, reasonable solution to the problem of her walking stick potentially being mistaken for a weapon to help assuage her fears. It should be on the first or second page of the thread if you care to look.

Or you can just keep getting your hackles up and being pissy about things. I don't care.

Your sarcasm and condescending attitude are duly noted. I never claimed to have expertise or authority by virtue of anything. You're being an ass, flat out.

I never claimed they were. Once again, this is YOUR projection. Not mine.

Once again, you're being purposefully disingenuous and it's not helpful at all for having a conversation. If you're so dense you can't realize I what I was saying (that I wasn't actually directing the comment toward you in that specific quote), then I really don't know what to say.

I'm not really the one getting pissy though, you are. You are the one who had a problem with my comments, you replied to me.

If you want to actually have a conversation, learn how to conduct yourself like an adult. Right now, you're acting like a triggered 13 year old.

Yah....I'm the one who's triggered.

Let's go with that. Wink

I'll leave you with last word, Princess.
Make it exciting.

I didn’t vote that orange freak into office. And neither did a majority of the American people. The electoral college over ruled our voice. And news flash killing unarmed brown people was happening since before America broke away from English rule. So what the actual fuck are you even talking about?

(June 26, 2019 at 12:20 am)EgoDeath Wrote: Is it a realistic fear? Probably not. It's highly unlikely you'll ever be killed by a police officer, especially if you're not a criminal (although that doesn't seem to stop plenty of cops). I have mostly black friends, I can't say any of them ever express this same fear, even when we speak openly about race. Some of them are much more worried about being killed by people who live in our own neighborhood.

I live in a highly mixed so I’m not sure what you meant by that. It’s not like I live in the middle of East Cleveland.

Is Trump a moron? Yes.

Did this sort of thing begin happening after he got elected President? No?

It'  been happening for years - and will probably still be happening long after the orange buffoon is gone.

Blaming him for this is just stupid.

PSA: I’m not from the fucking GHETTO
2. I don’t live anywhere near the ghetto
3. I have no reason to visit the ghetto

Sorry not sorry this seems to be hard concept for people to grasp

Most of my friends are in the East Cleveland/Collinwood area. I'm simply saying that I can't say I've ever heard any of them ever express fear about being killed by the police. Do you have any alternatives to using a cane, like a guide dog, for example?

edit: So far as I've seen, no one has assumed anything about where you live. I was only commenting on what I've heard my African-American friends say, nothing more. However, many of these police shootings do happen in low-income, predominantly black areas (because that's where a lot of police tend to patrol).
