Atmospheritrons? Smile

Jokes on you. The man that introduced atmospheric electricity to the world won the Noble Peace Prize with this discovery. Sure, I oversimplified it. But, wish to keep it simple and talk to you about it. Apparently, you never heard of it before either! We should all seek to understand the natural world we live in. I think this subject, and many others, is important to understand so that we don't become stagnate with yesterdays science.

Indeed, all peace prizes are noble.   But exactly which one did Benjamin Franklin win?

Also, did atmospheric electricity bow or curtesy when introduced?

Ok, I will go away now.

I always knew Dr. Franklin was a genius of the first water, now I understand he was more clever than I had imagined.  Not only did he win a peace prize for his work in physics, he managed to do so a century and a half before the Nobel Prizes were established.

It would not surprise me to learn that he also won an Oscar for 'Best Supporting Actor In A Revolution' and an Olympic gold medal for placing first in the Bifocalathon.

You two need to stop making fun of one of our greatest presidents.

I'm not making fun - I have nothing but admiration for him, what with how he won the Battle of Iwo Jima and all.

Well, America's first international playboy, Benjamin Franklin, said of Layton Jars, "The electricity is in the glass!" He was right as everything is capacitance and resistance with the insulator glass being also a capacitor. I've been reading!
My girlfriend thinks I'm a stalker. Well...she's not my girlfriend "yet".

I discovered a new vitamin that fights cancer. I call it ...B9

I also invented a diet pill. It works great but had to quit taking it because of the side effects. Turns out my penis is larger and my hair grew back. And whoa! If you think my hair is nice!

When does size truly matter? When it's TOO big!

I'm currently working on a new pill I call "Destenze". However...now my shoes don't fit.

Franklin never said a single word about Layton jars.  He did, however, do important work with Leyden jars.

You might try reading a little closer.

What a coincidence, two jars that sound the same but are spelt different.
What are the odds?

We live behind some power lines and the ambient static electric charge at the bottom of the gutters is around 280 V (but like no amps so it's like one of those gag shock pens). I told this to the roofers and he didn't believe me (He must have been grounded because he didn't feel it). So he went up to fix the soffit and check the roof. He finished and came to apologize because apparently up top it kicks like an electric fence. The electric company came and grounded the gutters and AC frame last week, but it was still humorous to see how quickly a few volts changed a young kids mind about what was real.
Yes volts can hurt but, amps can kill.

Your son sounds smart. You wanna know how stupid I am? When I was a kid on my uncles farm, I was told to water the pigs. The pigs were enclosed within an electric fence. I had my thumb on the water hose nozzle to make it squirt and every time the stream of water hit the electric fence, it would shock my thumb.

Later that day I took a piss on that same fence.

Last year I tried to open the front door of my house by pressing the button on the car keys.
Last week I tipped coffee on my foot when opening my bedroom door.
