No, I don't see the point.
Nothing has changed, Nothing will change.

Good thing you were not Susan B. Anthony or Martin Luther King Jr.
If you want to argue things will not change in 24 hours, I agree with that. But none of why America is where it is at now happened in a day, or a year, but decades.
I do see things changing. What you are seeing since the first election of Obama is a freak out of white Anxiety and billionaires. Things will not change if people sit out. But more and more ARE seeing the scam being pulled by the right.
Trump will not have the same volume of support in the swing states he did last time. The swing voters in 2016 only knew he was a rich guy who promised him jobs. They did not know what NYC knew for decades, but now they are seeing it.
His base will not leave him. But swing voters are not going to blindly follow him like his base.

And how does watching Mr. Mueller's testimony live apply to any of that?

His base will not leave him. But swing voters are not going to blindly follow him like his base. I think we will see him re-elected. Not only is his rabid base going to stick with him but I don't see that the Dems are putting any effort into really working on a viable opponent. There are how many people in the Dem clown car right now? The DNC needs to focus on a candidate or two and get them prepped and out into the communities. Trump has been campaigning since he ran for office...he has never stopped. The Dems are in line to shoot themselves in the foot - again.
As for swing voters...I don't think they matter at this point. There is a feeling of resignation among many people, a weariness, and a feeling (not unfounded) that the people don't mean a damn thing. The fact that there is some buzz that Trump might be indicted when he leaves office just solidifies the fact that while in office he can do whatever the hell he wants and he won't be held accountable.
I expect lower voter turnout for 2020 all around and if the Dems don't unite they might as well not show up to the party.
Watching several hours of word games and non-answers isn't something the general public has time to do...what with jobs and things to tend to. It makes more sense to wait to see how it all comes out in the wash.
WTF is 'I take your question'?
How about this -
Did Russia interfere with the last presidential election?
If yes, did Trump know about it and if he did, when did he know?

I agree. The Democrats best hope at this point is for another rabble-rousing Republican or independent to enter the race and split the vote.

It would highly unlikely that the republicans would run anyone but Trump. It's almost never been done in the US that the party of a sitting president runs someone against him.
The Dems look more and more inept with each passing day. We are just short of a year till the next election and still don't really have a standout leader from the DNC.

Fair point, I have a habit of being a pessimist with this kind of stuff. It's a side effect of seeing what the current president has done to societal norms.
I used to rag on how dopey Bush was but I can't recall him making his supporters violent and hateful the way Trump does with his vitriolic cult.

They don't need to. A plausible (but by no means likely) scenario is that a Republican (ANY Republican) who isn't totally in love with Trump starts their own candidacy, probably promising things Trump on which Trump did not deliver, or promising a return to Republican normalcy. When the new candidate fails to get the nomination, s/he runs as an independent. Trump loonies will adhere to Trump, no question about it, but the disaffected Republican centrists, who would NEVER vote for the Democratic candidate, may swing to the new option. This may be enough to keep Trump from winning.
If you're gonna dream, dream big.

Boru I think if that were to happen the Republicans would go after the person with everything they had to stop them from attempting to dethrone his Orangeness. As much as I hate it, I really think we are going to be in for another 4 years of having a complete and total pig as the president of this country.
I will still vote but I think it's already a done deal.
The guy is Teflon...nothing, no matter how awful, sticks to him. And he has brought every slimy creature out from under their rocks and given them a national stage. It's the pendulum swinging as far the other way as it can from having a (gasp) black man in the 'White House'.
