So, in your mind, being physically handicapped, having ASD or Down syndrome is the same as wanting to sexually assault children?

Jesus. Doh
Like it or not, it is recognized in both the DSM-V and the ICD-10, the two main reference texts for diseases, as a mental disorder.

Soo, then the problem would be, how do we increase the number of people which seek help. Wouldn't you agree?
I mean increasing the number of help seekers would decrease the abuse and the virtual market.

And yet, people with Down syndrome don't ruin people's lives, cause young children and adults to self-harm or commit suicide, split up families, tear apart friendships and relationships and act, in general, as a plague on society... need I go on? You trying to compare innocent victims of genetic "chance" to people who PREY ON innocent victims and destroy lives is more than a little despicable.

You are either incredibly unintelligent and don't realize how bizarre you're being or you're purposefully disingenuous. Either way, I don't care for what you've had to say on the subject, so far.

Oh, okay... thanks for the info.

I don't think we can increase the number of people who seek help. I think there are very few who think they should. In other words, it's not shame that's holding them back. It's a desire to abuse children.

In both cases, it will not harm anyone to try and improve the numbers. Maybe it will be futile but it is better than not trying any form of prevention.

As I said before, at this point, the research is in such an early stage that it’s difficult to figure out the proportion of non-offenders in the entire aggregate. Hell, we barely even have a handle on how high a proportion pedophiles make up in the population as a whole.

The best prevention is education all children about it, how to prevent it, and to always tell on adults who do it.

Even more important than educating children (under a certain age) is educating the parents who care for said children. These people are incredibly malicious and manipulative and know how to groom and charm entire families in order to isolate and victimize one child. I think the signs are quite obvious once you learn what they are... but to a naive young couple who is trying to handle all the stresses of being new parents, managing careers, trying to pay bills, etc. I'm sure it's easy to get lost in all of that and lose sight of someone who might be trying to work their way into your family and gain your trust for nefarious reasons.

But yes, obviously, teaching kids that speaking out about these types of incidents is safe AND necessary is key.

Oh, okay... thanks for the info.

I guess you put the stopping point on genetic chance where you see fit. Given that you sayed that all pedophiles should be killed, that includes the ones that want to seek help and don't want to harm anyone, and because of that they are innocent, they didn't choose the attraction that they have, but in a world governed by your way of solving the problem I wonder how many will stop being innocent? (this is not empathy BTW, I just Don t use a lens of hocu pocus to see the world.)

The second part is just an ad hominem.

RE: Pedophilia
For more information on the problems with identifying groomers, there’s a documentary on Netflix called Abducted in Plain Sight. it’s about a woman named Jan Broberg who was groomed, molested, and abducted (TWICE) by a family friend named Robert Berchtold. Berchtold went to incredible lengths to inure himself to them up to and including SEDUCING BOTH OF HER PARENTS THEMSELVES. It can actually be astonishingly easy for groomers to break down targets’ defenses, even if those targets know what to look for. I’m not saying it’s not important. I’m saying that some people can even outsmart
people on the lookout for red flags, even in cases as ludicrously obvious as Berchtold.
