You might want to practice.

Start with trying to take away food from a hungry pitbull.... Work your way up to a hungry badger then a hungry bear.
When you master that - you' re still not quite going to be ready for a gun owning American.

So you agree that you don't have the balls to face the world without a gun?
More with the sex and guns huh?

....

I don' t drive a car without insurance either.

Does that make my penis not measure up to your standards?

In almost 65 years I have never been so afraid that I thought I needed a gun, is the USA so awful?

There’s no data whatsoever to suggest that gun owning Americans are less likely to be victimized, or that the use of their gun is more successful at preventing victimization.

At best, they’re a safety blanket that, for whatever reason (and there are many) doesn’t actually have the effect we might expect to see in a vacuum.

One of the reasons we don’t have -more- shootings, is that people strongly avoid shooting other people. Even people who may have explained their gun purchase through explicit reference if intent to shoot someone with it.

This is also why gun owners who focus on home defense aren’t more of a threat than they could be.

If we want to work on this problem, all we have to do is look at trace data and tailor our response to what we see.

This doesn’t mean we can’t notice that home defense gun owners are no less likely to be burglarized or assaulted, but are more likely to shoot their immediate family members, so, and themselves. Or to be shot by those others.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The problem isn't that everyone needs a gun, the problem is the industry scares everyone into feeling they need one.

The mentally ill do not need guns. Domestic abusers do not need guns. Alcoholics do not need guns. Religious terrorists be they whatever religion, do not need guns. But the industry does need to scare the shit out of all zip codes, and police in order to sell them.

If you want to sell guns - elect a leftist Democrat.

The guns fly off the shelves with that possibility.

You're seeing the spikes, not the whole. I'm 68 and I've never been close to a mass shooting.

In the US, anyway.

But then you're not interested in actual solutions are you.  They'd only remove your beloved penis substitutes.

Much like NZ.  Anyone over the age of 16 can get a gun, but there are certain hoops that have to be jumped through first.  People under 16 can go shooting and/or hunting, but there has to be a licensed gun owner present.

Oh over here you can't legally shoot someone else's gun (outside of a target range giving lessons). Recently a range the next district over was shut down for two reasons 1) serving alcohol/allowing alcohol to be drunk on the premises and 2) unlicensed people shooting on the range.

I love you Gawdzilla, but that is still not the point.

Firearm violence is really no different than playing the lottery or going to a Vegas casino. The more people that play enough, eventually your number comes up.

Just like drunk drivers. They always make excuses for doing it because they drove 1,000s of times, when all it takes is once. Well, just this year hasn't been just once, but 250 times we've had, in just this year alone, where 4 or more people have been injured or murdered in one shooting event. 100 of our fellow citizens die every day from firearm violence.

I have not been near a mass shooting event myself. But I did live near the place where the reporter was murdered on live TV. My best friend lived just miles away from the Colorado theater shooting. I've had co workers in my life that have watch their friends die in their arms from a shooting. I had another co worker watch her cousin blow his brains out in a driveway committing suicide. And even I, when I was a kid, had my drunk dad shoot his 38 with me in the room.

USA! I'm with Biker.  The actual solution lies within arming everyone but also everything;
  • Mounted turrets on all doors
  • Full ballistic armor for every citizen, Special fun-size vests for kids in cool colors and printed action heroes or princesses in time for school
  • Armed guards to protect the armed guards at malls
  • New gun shoes. Shoes with small single-shot pistols in the toe, Triggered by a hard stomp or whistle for you runners.
  • Gun checkpoints. These would ensure that any citizen not carrying the minimum allowed 4 gun protection would be given one
  • Free AK-47's with every 6th ice cream cone purchase at participating Baskin Robbins.
  • Gun for pets. No longer will fido have to feel the injustice of having his right to bear arms denied.
  • Tommy guns for Tots program. Now children can learn in safety when you trade in a stuffy book for a full auto
  • Arming Cashiers with a specially made scan gun that doesn't just check prices but checks those filthy (Obviously brown) criminals into the smackdown hotel
  • Free penis enlargements pills or surgery [Likely not to be used as we know every full American blooded male gun owner packs a mighty walloping dick)
  • Bullet bandolier bras, for you ladies.
  • Better discounts on bullets as well as better armor-piercing rounds
  • Increased clips, Americans will not be safe until they have 500 round capacity magazines
And I'm proud to be an Americaaaaaaaaaaan
Where at least I know I'm freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
And I won't forget the kids who died
Who gave that right to meeeeeeeeee

And I gladly stand uuuuuuuuuuuuup
Next to you and defend her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand
FSM bless the USAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

USA!  USA! USA!  USA! USA!  USA! USA!  USA! USA!  USA! USA!  USA! USA!  USA! USA!  USA! USA!  USA!
"For the only way to eternal glory is a life lived in service of our Lord, FSM; Verily it is FSM who is the perfect being the name higher than all names, king of all kings and will bestow upon us all, one day, The great reclaiming"  -The Prophet Boiardi-
