Suppose you have three fragmented DNA strands: two single-stranded fragments of equal length and one longer double-stranded fragment with sticky ends.
When doing gel electrophoresis with these fragments, how many bands will be visible as a result?
Is it 2, or 3? Or will the double-stranded fragment need to be separated into single strands before doing so?
It's for a ... friend.
