Thumbs Up
Politainment
First we had "reality TV".

Then "infotainment".

Now (and I want credit for the invention of the word)

We have "politainment" -that is politics that are over the top - that they can't be real - they HAVE to be working from a script.

Any guess on who gets voted off the island next?

I'm happy to give you credit for coining the word, but was there ever a time when politicians were NOT working from a script?

There is one political system that will soon be working to a script.

As script writing goes Franz Kafka couldn't pen a more completely unintelligible tome. But hey, if it's not broke, don't fix it.

Does Poe's law also apply to scripts and political performances?

I'm thinking of a politician whose performances are beyond parody.

There are no politicians beyond parody. The problem is sometimes parody seems more sane and likely than the reality.

I'm hoping Boris Johnson or Nigel Farage.
