Maybe if we were objecting to Bush Jr or Mitt Romney, you'd have more of a case. But sorry, and once again, we are not at a point where I think politeness can work, as much as we want it to.
WW2 wouldn't have happened at all, if enough people had cared to be as blunt to Hitler back then. The destruction of a free society does not happen overnight. It is a slow chipping away, and the monster who seeks that power, sells it the same way, through hyper nationalism, scapegoating and vilification and falsely playing victim. All of that change is slow and incremental not sudden. So to most one can make an excuse "that's just politics" and that is boiling the lobster slowly.
If you get used to Trump's rhetoric, and falsely assume it can always be countered with politeness, that is a fools errand.

Trumps rethoric can always be defeated by reasonable speech Mr rational poet(if such a thing is possible).
If you think demeaning, calling deplorables, etcetera will do any good, look how well 2016 was.
If you called me a piece of shit for voting for Trump, instead of offering reasons why I shouldn't have, therein lies your own downfall.
A fools errand is when you got a big dildo up your arse and you want to try it once more.

Don't bring Hillary into this. Yes it was a gaff that blew up in her face.
But that is no different than Mitt's "47%" comment.
Politics has always been nasty in our political history, even between Jefferson and Adams.
But what is new to this round is that no other president has gone beyond the normal fry and ON A DAILY BASIS, repeatedly attacked even their own party when not blindly loyal. No other president I know of has sold the same fascist dictatorial hyper nationalism, scapegoating and falsely playing victim like Trump has.

I get that it’s hard for you, but try to stay on topic. The is only tangential about Trump’s abysmal behaviour. It’s and the way Elf expressed himself in a letter to Congresspeople about THEIR behaviour regarding Trump.
If you want republicans to do something about Trump, it’s probably best if you start off by not calling them ‘scum’. That’s the point. It’s not really about Trump. It’s not about Hitler. It’s not even about your mum.

And if you think calling other people names for the cause, then you are no better than Trump and his ilk. You are responsible for it, man up. You became the bully you abhor. What now? I will as I don't even have a vote in the matter.
