Trump's Evangelical Advisor to Jim Bakker: 'It's not Republicans vs. Dems--it's God vs. Satan

Quote:Last week, two monumental figures in religious charlatanry got together for a discussion and the result did not disappoint. Megachurch pastor Robert Jeffress appeared with Jim Bakker on The Jim Bakker Show last Wednesday and the message was clear: Republicans are of God, and the Democrats are doing the work of the Devil.

“I want to be very clear,” Jeffress told Bakker. “To me, this is not about partisan politics. People ask me all the time, ‘Why do you as a pastor get involved in something like this?’ — This is not a war between Republicans and Democrats. It’s not even a war between the left and the right — this is a war between good and evil. This is a war between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan.”

As the audience roared in approval, Jeffress went on to say that there was once a time a person could be both a Democrat and Godly, “but what has happened in the last few years is the Democrat Party has become a Godless party.”

You all do understand where this is all going to lead to don't you? Your
personal safety, my personal safety, and the security of us as a people are in grave danger. These Christo-fascists (Dominionists and Theocrats by any other name) are gearing up for a genocide of people they regard as undesirables. That is the intent of their "One Nation Under God."

There is only one way to fight this. Form our own well trained and well armed paramilitary and fight a hot war against the Conservative Republican shits and purge them from our country and the planet. Treason should not be allowed to stand. They are the only evil that needs to be stamped out.

I don't believe that Christian whackjobs are planning any kind of genocide. The truth is much more alarming: a lot of these people truly believe that the second coming of Christ is happening, and happening soon. They believe that the anti-Christ is going to establish a one-world government, and force people to accept "The Mark of the Beast," and that this is going to bring about the rapture, and the Second Coming of Christ. There are a lot more details that I could get into... but it's quite pointless as a lot of the details are even debated among Christians themselves.

The point is, a lot of these assholes truly think that, essentially, the world as we know it is soon coming to an end. What's alarming about that is that some hardcore Christian POTUS might actually, in a sense, have an incentive to start WWIII, since they actually believe that they will be taken away in The Rapture and be safe with God in Heaven. That is honestly fucking scary. If I'm not mistaken, Bush even had some comments about the War in Iraq being a part of "god's plan," and that he often conferred with god about different decisions he had to make and so on... Totally fucking bizarre.

All of this being said, I don't really have this fear when it comes to Trump. Trump is about as phony of a Christian as a President could be... I'm forced to recall when he called 2 Corinthians, spoken out out as "Second Corinthians," by anyone who is even somewhat familiar with the Bible... "Corinthians 2" as if it was a fucking movie sequel or something. How hilarious! Trump is totally a poser when it comes to being religious. So I think that we can all rest assured that Trump, if he even really listens to these advisers, that he's doing so to keep up appearances, and that's about it.
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.

Doubt there is a plan for a genocide (especially considering that atheists don’t really constitute a genos, that and My mind balks at hearing Trump and Planning in the same sentence.) That said, this sort of rhetoric with Evangelicals, comparing the Republicans and Democrats to God and Satan has been pretty well-attested since at least the Reagan years. That said, it’s honestly surprising that the Dominionists would be given as much power as with Dubya, if only because it seemed like the Republicans had moved from Dominionists to Randians to just narcissistic crack babies in the last 12 years.

I think I have a different frame of reference...

Corinthians 2, Brighton & Hove Albion 1
Romans and Judges is a late result...

@Secular Elf This sounds like paranoia at best, stupid militia fantasy (that we typically hear from the far right) at the worst. And all of your up roar is over a couple of hucksters taking money from the gullible.

Tell me, how many paramilitary fighters have joined your cause?
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

Jim and Tammy were hilarious.

Roommates and friends hanging around late, too drunk and high to pass out, and the only thing on was Jim and Tammy.

Jim would hold up the book and tell us that for not following it we were foolish and hellbound, then Tammy would pray for us while Jesus washed away our sins along with her mascara.

It was good to come together like that.
