Can we also talk about the pleasures of good wine?

RE: Can we also talk about the pleasures of good wine?
Wine is no different from any other ingestable in that there’s no such thing as an objectively ‘good’ wine. Just drink the ones you like, avoid the ones you don’t and tell the so-called ‘experts’ who gibber on endlessly about hints of beech and vanilla, impudence, and ‘smoky with just a hint of marsh gas’ to leave you the fuck alone.

There are objectively BAD wines, like MD 20-20.

Mad Dog! Best wine I've ever had was a nameless dry red - sold for $5 a bottle... as table wine... in a chain of greek restaurants... in germany.

Drink snobs are notorious for misidentifying brands and imagining that there are hints of non-existent ingredients or compounds.

I agree!

And when there are bad wines, then there are also good wines.

And btw: I am my own expert!

No wine since July 2020?

I cannot believe it.

Wine tastes disgusting - as does beer; whisky; vodka - that's why there're alcoholics, in part. Our unconscious brains go: It tastes GROSS - yet is popular, oh boy! Being drunk must be really great to justify drinking such disgusting rot to get there - count me in! :glug glug glug:
